"This is a belated review of a visit I had at the beginning of December. Eric Chavot's restaurant in Mayfair is a classy brasserie, but I couldn't help but think that with its relatively simple menu, it wouldn't dare to aspire to a Michelin star in Paris. However, here in London, where French cuisine like this isn't as common, it is truly exceptional! The sourdough bread and butter were heavenly, and for my starter, I chose the scallop ceviche, which was beautifully presented and had a perfect balance of flavors. Other appetizers at our table included the chicken liver parfait with plum and fig chutney, as well as a lovely charcuterie selection. As for the main course, my wife... Chavot is just that, a traditional Parisian style brasserie, but it’s by far the best I’ve eaten at. The dining room is luxurious...

When Eric Chavot opened his opulent “brasserie” in Mayfair, it was never going to be your usual bar/restaurant serving simple, traditional French food....

...the soft-shelled crab with saffron aioli was one of the best things I’ve eaten this year. And in total truthfulness, the boullibasse is on my short list for last suppers, with a complexity that still has me trying to mentally tease it ap

brasserie chavot offers a French inspired menu that is created with the finest products from the British and French. the pariser inspired dining room has white tablecloths, red banquet, a beautiful mosaic floor and extravagant chandelier. the Executive Cook eric chavot is very celebrated and has worked with iconic chefs like pierre caoffmann and raymond blanc. he opened this michelin star brasserie in 2013 and it is comfortable in the conduct street, mayfair, which is just outside the regent street, perfect for a pre- / post-purchasing slap up meal.

French food seems to have fallen into a lump in the last few years, but this place is very refreshing. had a work lunch with some restaurant people. we have shared our appetiser to spread the bet in the menu. the crab mayonnaise and avocado well arranged and the escargot that disregards the expectations. the heap, Feta salad was great and the steak tart was beautifully spiced. for my head I had the cod. it was great. the cheeseboard was beautifully thought out and an adventurous to try. great service and quality. Not sure why it was 30% full, but also somehow happy, as that means I can have a table last minute nab (or maybe it was just a Tuesday thing.) very good.

The historical annals of London’s foodie encyclopaedia will highlight 2013 as the year that French bistros and brasseries firmly took hold in London. Sure, French wine bars have been a fixture of London’s dining scene for a while now Brawn and Terroirs set the benchmark on that front). However, despite being the premier culinary city in the world London has so far had few top notch French bistros and brasseries Koffman ‘s and Bistrot Bruno Loubet come to mind as obvious candidates). However, with some recent high profile openings London looks to be blessed with a raft of great additions to this neglected culinary genre. Bread basket Olives Mocktail Chicken liver...read more

I was bigging it up for C, as you do. It’s good, I said, gutsy Brasserie-style food. Smart, an elegant room, a bit hotel-y, but a restaurant for grown-ups. Highly competent, I said, you’ll like it. Great chef, you know, that Eric Chavot. He’s a star. I should have known better. I’d given it the restaurant kiss of death. My first visit was with clients. Serious chaps. Talking numbers and everything. I can’t really concentrate on the food when that’s going on; numbers are my enemy. I’d found the room bright and buzzy, the décor pleasing (check out the floor), the service attentive and everything just working as I’d expected. I’d ordered the Waldorf Salad, because I...read more

Sensation French food. This restaurant really was entering the top end of French dining. Imagine a Parisian restaurant serving the classics: crab with avocado and mayonnaise, confit of duck or perhaps traditional Cassoulet. However one big difference: it will be the best you've ever tasted. Real attention to detail: amazing textures and perfect touches of blissful flavours. Substantial portions and even the sides were amazing: incredible green beans with strong chive flavours. While it's expensive, it isn't ridiculously priced. Would definitely return and probably the best authentic French restaurant I've eaten in. Highly recommended. For those who love their Micheline stars, this is a...rea...
