"If you are on the Atlantic island of Madeira with a ship in the port, the ship leaves and the short walk through the port towards Funchal, you cannot overlook it. Almost the oversized bronze statue 2,40 meters/800 kg) of the world footballer Christiano Ronaldo, born in Madeira. Together with the huge statue, hundreds of men women can be exposed here daily. It's a little smaller. In the heart of Cologne at the Old Market there is also a statue of a footballer. Not of bronze and of normal size. The statue shows no world footballer, but for the Colognes Poldi is the best: The statue of the Lukas Podolski stands at the entrance of the Kölner Brauhaus Zum Prinzen . Here on the old market is Kneipe next to Kneipe, Brauhaus next to Brauhaus and outdoor gastronomy as far as the eye is concerned. And also here men can also be photographed with the statue of Prince Poldi. On a sunny Sunday in Corona July 2020 at a pleasant 25 degrees we stayed in Cologne in the afternoon. Dur for a beer if possible accompanied by a few snacks, but please in this weather outside in a beer garden. We landed in the Brauhaus Zum Prinzen . Yes Cologne's connoisseurs will now say: much too touristy, not pristine . But we were not interested in thirst and light hunger in the baggage at this moment. Around 15:00, various tables were still available outside the beer garden. The youthful babe similarity to the young Lukas Podolski was present) offered us a table. Before that, he disinfected table and chairs. We ordered two cash. The 0.2 ltr. Kölsch bars served in the wreath. The official DEHOGA CORONA REGISTRATION FORMULAR and the menus. Hasimausi took over as everywhere filling out the form. There was my first 0.2 ltr. Glass Gaffel Kölsch empty. Bavaria likes to call these glasses as beer test tubes. The map was characterized by wooden and rustic cuisine. Examples: Cölsche Kaviar, Metthappen, Halve Hahn, Prinzensalat, Himmel Ääd. Ordinary burgers, Kotelette and Flamecake. Become hearty bashes to fill the stomach to the crumb. Our choice: For both of us together, Halve Hahn, Metthappen and a flame cake. Our fleeting nice service Jung Poldi said we had chosen well. As we wait for our taps, you could already see a certain trinity of some toys. Some of them went through the beer garden. No not to take place at a table, but only to photograph Papi with the Prince Poldi statue at the entrance. Some of them with chic white tennis socks that were stuck in super-silent brown sandals. The short light brown trousers, model Generalfeldmarschall Rommel. On the back the Touri backpack, in the hand the smartphone. Some were also oriented with a medieval city map. And 1.50 meters of Corona distance, what is there? However, where one is currently particularly striving in Germany, the design and colour design of the Schnuten Pullis is, even if they often run below the nose with some contemporaries. Almost exactly where the benefits are less than 10%. Prince Poldi Junior dragged flamecake, Halve Hahn and Metthappen. Our table was completely occupied. The non-Colognese is explained what a Halve Hahn is. Not about half a chicken, which is still called a broiler in the East of the Republic. The Halve Hahn is a rake rye bread) with a thick slice Gouda and mustard. Metthappen are quite normal mead rolls with onions. The pane Gouda at the Halve Hahn was thick, the Metthappen were filled with onions. Both no culinary revelation, but no one expects this at beer taps. And the flame cake? A clean, neat and handcrafted good kitchen performance. With prawn, cheese and bacon abundantly occupied, crispy dough. Prima suitable as a basis for fresh cereal. Conclusion: We were satisfied. We got exactly that, we wanted. Fresh, delicious beer taps. All served by a well-launched young basket. He didn't overlook an empty glass, always had a fleeting spell on his lips unmistakably Rhenish, unmistakably crumb. Tourists in the surrounding area were an interesting setting. And no, I didn't want the Hasimausi photographed me with the statue of Prince Poldi. Hasimausi would certainly not have done that. I didn't give up exactly the way I used to take a photo with Ronaldo in bronze in Funchal. And who hasn't noticed that Brauhaus Zum Prinzen has two shareholders. One of them is Lukas Podolski. The Colognes call him Prince Poldi."

Schade.

Very friendly staff and beautiful atmosphere. Unfortunately, the waiter told us that they don't rub cakes to disappoint my two grandchildren. After we ordered something else, I discovered a poster in the brewhouse. Monday rubs cake day. On my request, I found out that the waiter forgot.

"In a 5-day stay in Cologne and as a lover of Indian cuisine, we had planned the Ginti. The visit took place on Monday to the beginning of noon. The reception was very friendly and cordial by the Lord of the House. The decor in Ginti is very modern, stylish, but also somewhat sterile and only very discreet supplements with Indian accessories. Young guests will probably find favors in the style of the institution. The place was still empty and so there was a chance to get a brief conversation with the mistress of the house. She brought us the menus, and there were Papadam with three from a culinary point of view pretty boring finished dives. We chose both a mango sauce as a drink that was thin and most likely prepared on the basis of a mango powder. Disgusting! I ordered as main dish Malai Kofta, vegetable balls in a mild curry sauce with ginger, garlic, almonds and coconut. This is not only one of my favorite Indian dishes, but it is also a dish that places higher requirements on a kitchen and therefore cannot be found in any Indian restaurant on the menu. In addition, quality and freshness can be well valued with this bowl. I ordered this dish with a higher sharpness, but not through the sauce, but ultimately through the vegetable balls themselves. The latter were produced excellently and their loose inner composition had the freshness of the preparation felt. This was undoubtedly a 5-star court. My accompaniment had opted for Tandoori King Prawn Masala, marinated royal cloves from Tandoor in a sauce with tomatoes, cashew nuts and raisins. This dish was also very tasty, rather mild and very generous in the number of shrimps. The rice was served unfavorably on an open bowl and had to measure any fragrance and aroma that could originate from cardamom capsules or spice cloves. After the main dishes were convinced, we were curious about the Indian ice cream, Kulfi. This came visually well over a carrot cut into slices, but could not be along tasteful. It was crystallized, little creamy and the aromas of the aforementioned mango powder were reappeared. Conclusion: a highly recommended Indian restaurant due to the excellent main dishes, but not yet matured in its culinary periphery. Therefore, provisionally three stars with an inclination to four."
