Wer günstig, gut und viel Essen will, sollte hier hin. Gerade die Pasta Abende 18:00-19:00 sind Spagetti BOLO für 1,80 unschlagbar. Im Gastraum immer was los, deswegen sehr laut. Aber hier trifft man auf Publikum aus der ganzen Welt.

This place is bekannd or famous among Freiburg students, and best known for its cheap price and large portions of foods. The waiters are nice and Brennessel is very crowded so you have to prepare everything to get tables :D It also has delicious foods,...unlike any other cheap foods. Lekker! Guten Appetit! Ver carta

We definitely ordered too much food (appetizers and main courses), which was served not according to logical order (appetizers first, wait till it is over, than serve the main course) plates (big plates) were just put all over the table. Most of the dishes...were quite tasty, but not inspiring. Overall, can be a very cost-effective tasty meal, if you do not order too much food.

Das Restaurant Brennessel ist vor allen denjenigen zu empfehlen, die einen großen Hunger haben. Die Portionen sind riesig und die Zubereitung lecker. Dazu gibt es eidne angenheme Atmospäre zum lockeren Plausch.Ein abgetrennter Raum erlaubt auch den Rauchern zu Essen, ohne zwischendurch vor die Tür zu müssen. Zum Glück scheint diese Unart (beim Essen zu Rauchen) auf dem Rückzug.Der Nachteil der Riesenportionen ist, dass sehr viel Essen auf den Tellern bleibt und weggeschmissen wird. Hier wäre die Option bei der Bestellung Normalgröße und Übergröße (Speise nicht Speiser) anzugeben wünschenswert.

This place extremely well known amongst Freiburg students, but attracts a very diverse crowd. It's a little way from the old town minute walk), but is definitely worth the experience. Meals are huge (could easily be shared) and very reasonably priced, and include all...the typical dishes -various steaks, flammkuchen, spaetzle, etc. Don't expect many tourists here, although they have a single English menu. Staff are always a little rushed but quite friendly and happy to help translate a few dishes. Try the Urtrunk beer it's an unfiltered pilsner from the local Ganter brewery and comes in a great ceramic mug. Ver carta
