"We often eat at Cafe21 the Bistro in Fenwick 's thoroughly enjoy not only the food but service ambiance too however not today. The first disappointment was the Thai green curry was missing from the menu. The second was the poor burger that I chose. It wasn 't particularly large (a small patty). It was overcooked quite dense and extremely salty. To such an extent my mouth was salty for an age afterwards. I didn 't want to create a fuss as my Wife was enjoying her 'look forward to ' dish of prawns spaghetti. Couldn 't fault the service! Intersing to note that for a Friday afternoon the Bistro seemed particularly quiet."

Always our favourite place in the city for breakfast. The best Avocado and sourdough combination in Newcastle. Good service!

You know you're on to a good thing when you're brought a large teapot for two and the scones come warm and in pairs. Good service.

Went for brunch on Thursday really tasty food and friendly, helpful staff who were happy to change poached eggs to scrambled, going off menu. They even checked how we liked our scrambled eggs cooked. Was busy and rightly so.

We both had the club sandwich, it was delicious, the best club sandwich I’ve ever had. Quality ingredients, really tasty and excellent service. The ambiance was relaxing and calm which was perfect in the middle of our busy day. Ver carta

Our favourite go to restaurant for lunch. Our salmon croquettes with beetroot salad was excellent and our seabass was cooked nicely as usual it came with samphire and new potatoes with a pesto sauce. Service was good and friendly staff.

Good food and great coffee. Staff rushing had put last pice of food in my mouth and plate was taken. Sat in a position looking at a hover bins and ironing boards. Vs my partners view of bar and cafe. Nice decor generally if you ignore the above mess and ambiance for Saturday brunch.

We went for a traditional afternoon tea for a leaving party. The food was delicious, scones arrived still warm. The hand made cakes and sweets were exceptional. The staff were very attentive and made our visit a memorable one. Well worth the money compared to other venues who charge a lot more. Ver carta

Been recommended to me so thought would give a go the cafe is buzzing with people chatting looks like a place were the food is high end. Well let’s put my way I would recommend Cafe 21 to anyone who asked, I had the fish fingers tartar sauce mushy peas and fries it was top draw well presented the waitress was on the ball as well not too pushy. Excellent coffee too .

Usually have the Afternoon Tea ehen we visit which is amazing value for money but on this occasion we opted for lunch. The cheddar cheese soufflé and chips were lovely and after some deliberation we decided on a piece of carrot cake each for dessert. Given the price of £6 per cake we expected more than the slither that arrived. It was no bigger than the piece provided on the afternoon tea and to make matters worse it was very dry. In hindsight this should have been sent back as it is massively overpriced and not worth any more than £3.50 at best.

"The place seems unprofessionally run. The staff all look like they could do with a bath. No overalls are worn and their clothes are all of the type that many would wear to lounge around the house in . Several have longer hair and beards but don’t wear any kitchen p.p.e. The decor is shabby and I wondered what kind of hygiene rating they would have. Although not busy, the staff seemed to be disorganised, falling over eachother and lacking in training. They seemed to handle the food in an inexperienced, clumsy fashion. The only tool I saw being used was a pizza peel for taking the pizza in and out of the oven. On all other occasions the food was handled. I didn’t notice any hand washing or alcohol gel in evidence. The menu is quite limited and uninspiring. 2 of the 6 pizza choices include chicken which Italians would argue is definite no no! All pizzas are reheated to order which eliminates the possibility of customisation. I don’t believe the restaurant would stand out in many European countries, as pizza in general is of a much higher standard than that in the UK. In spite of the above, The basic pizza is excellent in taste (even though it is all re-heated). And for this reason it is worth a visit. Compared to other uk pizza restaurants which are typically serving absolute garbage, the food is way out in front. If you can tolerate the negatives I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with the pizza. However with a bit of effort, this place could be transformed into something truly amazing."
