Cafe@abantu - Menú

We had a really nice lunch here. It's clean and bright and very friendly. They serve you quickly with tasty food.

I had been wanting to try Abantu for a while after hearing such good things and it did not disappoint. The portion sizes where huge and the food seemed really fresh. The menu had such a good choice. Can't wait to go back

I loved the atmosphere and decor of this cafe. I had a milkshake and my mum had a tea. We also ordered food: date flapjack and chocolate orange rocky Road. All was lovely and delicious however the guy who served us used his bare hands to plate the food, I would have expected gloves or tongs but overall good :

Después de haber pasado la mañana navegando en Cambridge, visitamos Caf Abantu para almorzar y no podríamos haber estado más felices. El personal era amable y la comida era fantástica. Probamos las tostadas (tocino queso brie y el queso de cabra chili dulce, mi favorito personal), así como el rollo de salchicha y batidos y todos eran muy sabrosos. ¡Vale la pena una visita!

Disfruta mucho el almuerzo aquí: siempre hay una variedad de delicias saludables y no tan saludables para que puedas ir a por lo que te apetezca. La comida es el tipo de cosas que esperarías en un café de buena calidad. Ambiente realmente encantador, mucha luz: mi mesa favorita está en la esquina y está construida sobre una máquina de coser (vengo aquí bastante). A un precio muy razonable y lo recomendaría de todo corazón.

Perhaps Abantu suffers from its popularity or maybe we hit a bad day but the coordination of orders was very poor. Coffee did not arrive with a croissant ordered. Having chased for the croissant, which arrived some 5 minutes later, we also asked the waiting staff if we could have some water. We were then brought 2 empty glasses and told to serve ourselves. Good customer service is about going the extra mile and I'm afraid on this occasion, Abantu gave us no real reason to return.

Been here several times previous and always good. Popped in for breakfast, only 2 other tables being used already had their orders.. Ordered the food and then it went down hill. We had our drinks served and then waited and waited and waited, total time at least 20 mins. A latte and a pot of teas consumed before getting the food. Food well presented but not warm. 3 people serving but waiting time was not really acceptable, could hear and see the staff chatting and at one point thought of getting up and leaving, no apology for the time taken.

We came here for afternoon tea today for my birthday. Staff was friendly enough, however we did have spoiled cream with our scones, I wasn’t too sure what the off taste was until after smelling the cream Pots and trying the cream on its own to realise it was sour. I thought it was a weird flavoured cream so I asked and was told it was just plain clotted cream in which I then mentioned to one of the young girls behind the counter that it was definitely spoiled but they didn’t seem too interested. Hopefully it’s only just gone off and we do not get poorly from it but I would recommend them chucking that cream out and maybe dating their dairy. Lovely small cafe, slightly away from the busiest shopping area. Service at the til where we ordered and when bringing food and clearing the table was always friendly and welcoming. There was a good choice of imaginative and creative fresh salads, toasted panini, savoury pastries etc. Plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. There were some tempting looking sweet things too, but we did not have much time so enjoyed a generous plate of three different salads, a delicious pan fried goats cheese and red onion sandwich (cheese cut a wee bit thick, so not quite as melty as it could be but very flavourful) and a tasty maple roasted vegetable and squash 'not sausage ' roll.
