Cafe du midi - Carta

We endorse all the praise heaped on this perfect spot. The location is great, the staff - especially Chef - charming and helpful (English spoken) but above all the food is quite delicious.

We had lunch there and as it was a bit windy we sat in the sheltered section. They were able to prepare a vegetarian dish. The bread served was delicious. The location is great and offers a lovely view over the lake. Will be going back.

It has a wonderful terrace overlooking the lake . . The Menu is very restricted and never seems to alter but what they serve is good . I wish they would add more specials . Its under new management but they have added nothing to the menu Friendly service Ver carta

The food here is good value and the staff are helpful and friendly. Fairly traditional provencal cooking with extras; set menu and special of the day. Good wine. Great atmosphere, and you are on the village place (if you want to play boule) which overlooks the Lac de St. Croix.

Our best meal during our 2 week holiday. We know the area well but this was our first visit to this restaurant. We went for Sunday lunch with a combination of friends and family. It ticks all the boxes. The location and ambience were superb as were the food, service and value.We will return!

We had a salad for €12.50 that was a very sparingly plated, with tiny morsels of chicken placed at precise distances around the plate's perimeter, a single crouton, about a quarter of a tomato, etc. The flavours were good but this was an informal spot and we felt ripped off by the portions. You're paying for the view across the lake, though, which is utterly remarkable. Ver carta

Bernard Keyser started to run the Cafe du Midi in Bauduen a while ago now, and it has always been a wonderful place to eat, drink, and enjoy the view. The menu is almost unchanging, but it doesn't need to change - everything on it is based on traditional Provencal dishes and also has his own unique and individual touch. Food, service and ambience are all excellent and seeing Bernard greeting his guests and working in his tiny kitchen is a huge pleasure.

Came here for lunch on a trip to the Lac de St. Croix. New owners who were very keen to make sure everything was correct. Will be a hard act to follow as Bernard and Gudrun have run this place for years. They have kept the same menu, a good idea, as it is superb.We had Entrecôte aux herbes de Provence. All very nicely done and well presented. The setting is magnificent and we had a lovely sunny day so could sit on the terrace looking at the lac.Good luck to the new owners. We will be back in the summer to see how they are getting on when the tourists arrive.

Tried to book, but told to call back tomorrow as they were busy (had to check I understood his French correctly as I have never had that before).Tried to ask for small portion of pasta as only steak hache on the childrens menu, but received full adult portion (may have been my French but had never had to try to hard to get small portions with previous owners and thought it was obvious as she is only 3, this meant she was a little intimidated by it, but we never received the small plate we had asked for). However my son thought the steak hachee was really good.All the starters were good, but then the main course took ages to come out and we had to ask for them to serve us - I think they were...
