Feel pretty dumb for not having ever noticed this place before - it's literally in front of the steps to the gare St-Charles.

Laid back hipster place where the food tastes fresh, healthy and very light. Pleasant surprise for a place right by the train station.

Good handy location when you are waiting for a train at the Gare St Charles. Very friendly staff, lovely tasty freshly prepared salads, tortilla and quiches. Good value. Ver carta

This was a pleasant surprise next to the main railway station. Tasty vegan food with great prices. Self service for the most part but it fits perfectly with the culture in this place. Not to be missed

We were here for lunch and a few cup of coffee. This is a great place for a healthy lunch! I love the vegetarian food and the coffee were great. Plus! It's jus right in front of the train station ! Definitely a yes for lunch! :)

Give it a try. I'm not always a fan of veggie-only places but this one makes very creative , tasty dishes for reasonable prices. We had the puff pastry with egg and the eggplant pie. Both were excellent.Very serve-yourself and a bit tight on space. You have to bus your own table and get your own silverware and water, etc.Urban: Center of town, right by train station. Ver carta

We made a special trip back to this part of Marseilles just to eat lunch here. The food was all delicious, with vegan and vegetarian options. They were pretty busy when we were there. You might need to be patient for them to bring your food if you're at a table, and they had run out of several choices for the day by the time we left. Highly recommended particularly if you are looking for quality vegan options.

This easygoing hipster joint can be found across the street of the grand stairs at St Charles Train Station. I believe the restaurant also operates as a shared workspace. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Cafe l'Ecomotive reminds me of the restaurants on Avenues A & B lower east side New York City. I had the vegetable tart which was delicious. There were three salads served with the tart; a carrot and red cabbage salad, tabboleh and a leaf salad. All delicious. It's self service as you order and pay at the counter at the end of your meal you have to clear and separate your plates and rubbish. Meals are €10. each and beverage was €3.00.

I passed by this cafe many times before but never had the time to stop for something. The other day I came to try their lunch menu but was told no more savoury food after 14:00. Then I arrived one afternoon too late to just seeing them shutting the shop.Finally today I invited a friend to have lunch with me since it's her birthday.This is a cafe selling only organic products and they cook the food in front of you. We were told to help ourselves with water , cutlery on the wall side counter and we were supposed to bring our dishes to the rack near the other wall after finishing our meals. The 3 of us tried the only 2 choices of their lunch menu, broccoli and eggplant pie with salad, eggplant... Ver carta
