Celebrating my wifes birthday and chose the Cannonball due to a very tasty sounding menu. Service was excellent, staff very polite and helpful. Food was incredible. Will definitely go back.

I went out for a night with my friends and had a fantastic experience. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the ambiance of the restaurant was lovely. The cocktails were also really good.

The second visit to this restaurant was disappointing compared to the first. The food was minimalistic and the chips were not served hot or crispy. Although it was a meal deal purchased with a voucher, the quality should still have met the standard. Ver carta

Went to this restaurant whilst visiting Edinburgh for my boyfriends birthday, excellent service and even better food. Was given a table which was facing the castle and looked beautiful with the lights of Edinburgh shining. Would highly recommend 10/10

I would not recommend this restaurant at all. I have wanted to go for well over a year . It is a beautiful building but the interior is soulless and unwelcoming. Only 1 person in a party of five enjoyed their food. The gaps between courses were far too long and only 1 staff member was notable . Despite informing the restaurant there were 2 vegetarians in advance .There was only 1 choice. There ended up being three vegetarians all together and our mains tasted different. Mine was positively revolting. There was no atmosphere in the restaurant at all. The pre dinner drinks were lovely . It was expensive which would not have been a problem if we had enjoyed it . We won't be back.

The reception desk on the ground floor was unattended, so we walked up a flight of stairs to the bar where the staff seemed surprised to see us. After finally being seated, the service was acceptable but not worth the high prices. The menu was extremely limited, with only seven main dishes to choose from, one of which was fish and chips - not what we were expecting for a fine dining experience. The lobster and steak were overpriced. While nothing we ate was bad, nothing stood out as exceptional either, especially considering the prices. Overall, this was one of the least memorable meals we had during our week in Edinburgh. With so many other great dining options in Old Town, I would not reco... Ver carta
