"The Fountain Inn is a hidden gem of hospitality and culinary excellence. Our recent dining experience was absolutely spectacular. We dined with a group of 16 people and the evening ran smoothly thanks to the exceptional staff and delicious food. The staff were amazing, managing our large table with ease and attentiveness. They made sure all of our needs were met with a smile and provided top-notch service throughout the night. The food was equally impressive, with every dish served hot, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The menu had a great variety of options, all executed perfectly. The ambiance of the inn was cozy and inviting, making our gathering even more enjoyable. Whether you're planning a large celebration or a romantic dinner, The Fountain Inn is a fantastic choice. "Booked a table online, we arrived 10 mins before our booking time (I assume that’s acceptable and we’re seated. The waiter with the bandana on was so lovely friendly, didn’t waste any time taking our drinks orders at all later returned to take our food orders. I ordered the fish basket my husband ordered the 3 meat selection, one of his choices was half a rack of ribs, however they didn’t have any. My husband decided as there were no ribs he would have been better off going for the mixed grill, as it was basically the same price but more meat so he went to the bar to ask if it would be possible to change his order it was no trouble for them at all. The chef delivered the massive mixed grill to my husband even came to check he was happy with it later, the lovely waiter with the bandana also came to check all was ok it was. The chips were massive but tasty portions were a really good size. Food cooked fresh to order so couldn’t fault it. The lady waitress was chatting to us when she took our plates away was also very friendly. Great meal, we left happy with full bellies: Thank you"

"We’d heard good things about The Bridge so booked a table for Sunday lunch . Arrived at allocated time and received a warm welcome and shown to our table . Ordered wine and went to the carvery buffet for the main course . We selected our meats and helped ourselves to the vegetables on offer which were plentiful. The consistency of the gravy resembled chocolate sauce but hey-ho give it a try .On returning to our table we found the vegetables to be warm/tepid , lacking salt and generally bland , but the meat was very nice . We both left most of the veg but the meat was succulent . I don’t normally eat more than one course but I’d consumed so little I ordered the lemon tart and my wife had the cheesecake which was very enjoyable . Would I recommend the Bridge , I’m afraid not , it was quite disappointing. Will we return there , sorry , but no . I understand that the business has changed hands , perhaps they should ask advice from the previous owners as the carvery was much better previously ."

"The Cafe itself is visually appealing, but it falls short when concerning the staff and food. The staff were rather rude, replying in short, agitated sentences, making me feel unwelcome. This isn’t helped by the fact they asked me to leave after half hour, stating no reason as to why. I ended up offering to move tables, because I was planning to order and wasn’t ready to leave yet, but the waitress fumbled over her words awkwardly and said that I could stay. Unfortunately, this isn’t where the negative experience ends. When I ordered my food, I requested, and paid extra, for bacon and egg. In addition to this, I requested no balsamic glaze. You can imagine my shock when my food arrived, and not only was it missing the bacon, but there was balsamic glaze, a hair, and it was freezing cold. It almost felt like a personal attack for refusing to leave. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning, though i’m sure the staff will be pleased to hear that considering the vendetta they seemed to have against me."

"Went today for Mother’s Day, when we got there the place was absolutely packed took about 10minutes for us to be seated. Once we sat down the waitress was very friendly and took our drinks orders and food orders. Food was amazing but place is...terribly managed. Online they had said there will be 2 courses available for Mother’s Day for £16.95 and at the top it said there will be carvery. However, under the “two course for £16.95 it said you can chose from a starter main or main desert and did not specify that the original menu is not included in this deal. It also stated that all mums get a free glass of champagne with their meal which we had to ask for 4 times before receiving it. Once we had asked for the bill we made sure to check everything was right and they had charged us for two carvery’s when we had only ordered one, charged us £6+ for a child’s fish and chips when on the Facebook page it says they cost £4.95 and when we asked about it they had said they didn’t know the prices have changed and they hadn’t changed it on their website yet. Waitressing staff were absolutely lovely and made sure our food was ok and that we had everything we wanted and food was absolutely delicious. Needs new management!"
