"yesterday for Sunday and it was very good! during the weekdays there is a quantity of roast, but on Sunday is dinner with a choice of beef or huhn that neither my children have, and the renter and renter went out of the way and did sausage, chips and bors and pizza for them! the brats were massive! I'll get the next time the kids, as there was a lot of things. a very good price for four of us, children desserts and drinks. it is so nice to have a "local pub ' within foot that does good eating also with a good menu for weekdays. will be back as it saved me while cooking!"

"Great place for a family get together, made welcome and the staff were great, booked on line and had good communication. Enough normal car parking but limited disabled parking, 2 spaces with all-round access and 1 with limited access. Food was good and a good selection of drinks. The only complaint we could have was that it was very warm inside without the ability to open a window to cool down. Price per person: £10–20"

"Very fast service and a cosy atmosphere, the real fire is very welcoming after a long walk! I visited in a Saturday afternoon without booking and there were no tables for food available. We still stayed for a drink and the scenery from the outdoor seating area was fantastic. I would recommend booking in advance if you would like to eat though."

"Don’t eat here if you need gluten free. Our party of 9 had lunch last Sunday, had to pre order before arrival due to our large party. They were advised we had an 1 adult and 1 child gluten free. They couldn’t advise what could be offered gluten free other than chicken Caesar salad. They advised for the child that it lmight be better to bring our own!! On arrival they brought us the menus, seemingly unaware that we had pre ordered. We were told the fish pie, ordered by the gf adult couldn’t be gluten free, he was offered a burger on a gf bun only to be told 2 mins later there were no buns only bread. In the end he had a fillet steak. The child had a chicken dinner. We did ask if the children’s meals could be brought straight away but in the event they only arrived after our starters at 12.50 which was 50 mins after our 12 noon arrival. The food we had was very nice but the overall organisation and provision of gluten free options- despite having forward notice of this- was very poor. If you don’t want to cater for this dietary need that’s fine but you should make that clear when a booking is taken, particularly when you are asking people to pre order. I did contact the Old Bell directly via their website to make them aware of the above points but to date have had no reply."

"This review is about one visit, as a vegan for breakfast. I will definitely return to try other menu options and then write a fuller review. The vegan breakfast was served on a side plate which for bigger appetites might be disappointing. small but However they’ve used really good quality, more expensive ingredients than are commonly used. I couldn’t quite finish it and you could always ask for an extra sausage or more toast. I think they could have made it look bigger by using a dinner plate. The only thing I would add is that several components of the meal had added flavours. So the mushrooms were herby, the excellent beans were delicious with a strong tomato and onion base that wouldn’t be out of place with pasta. The guacamole was good, a little thin and slightly watery texture wise. Just small details in the prep and personal preference. The service was excellent. The toilets clean. The coffee yes very well made and the oat milk was reasonable. Again, personal preference, the vegan latte could benefit from a barista oat milk. It just gives a more neutral background and richer creamier feel. The menu is extensive and they offer a kids choice, always gets an extra tick from me. This place is somewhere to feel comfortable as a group, family, cosy couple or solo. I enjoyed being here. The environment and styling is really perfect. Great atmosphere, a level of privacy between the tables and music just at the right audible setting to create a vibe and more privacy. Would I return? Yes. Could there be improvements? Yes. But I think that’s often vegan life. A lot of vegan food tries to either replicate the meat versions or can frequently overcompensate by being too flavoured instead of standing by its own value like the guac some fresh slices might have worked better. And I would add that next time I would mention some preferences on ordering and I’m sure the staff would accommodate. For example , a double shot of coffee."
