"Don’t eat here if you need gluten free. Our party of 9 had lunch last Sunday, had to pre order before arrival due to our large party. They were advised we had an 1 adult and 1 child gluten free. They couldn’t advise what could be offered gluten free other than chicken Caesar salad. They advised for the child that it lmight be better to bring our own!! On arrival they brought us the menus, seemingly unaware that we had pre ordered. We were told the fish pie, ordered by the gf adult couldn’t be gluten free, he was offered a burger on a gf bun only to be told 2 mins later there were no buns only bread. In the end he had a fillet steak. The child had a chicken dinner. We did ask if the children’s meals could be brought straight away but in the event they only arrived after our starters at 12.50 which was 50 mins after our 12 noon arrival. The food we had was very nice but the overall organisation and provision of gluten free options- despite having forward notice of this- was very poor. If you don’t want to cater for this dietary need that’s fine but you should make that clear when a booking is taken, particularly when you are asking people to pre order. I did contact the Old Bell directly via their website to make them aware of the above points but to date have had no reply."

fantastic new years eve meal and stay over staff were excellent. especially the young lady who made all the actions to queens that I wanted to break off with a sweeping brush, she has broken off a fantastic night. you would recommend

Highly recommended. Food great, accommodation spot on but the staff were the cherry on the cake. Pleasant, accommodating, chatty, nothing was a bother, polite to us, our kids and everyone else! Would go back in a crack, and im not easily pleased! 5 star xx

Visited today for our christmas meal it was very poor .The starter was fine. The turkey dinner was bot good the roast potatoes were inedible you couldn’t cut through them and the dinner was barely warm. Was really looking forward to the xmas pudding was topped with sweet compote not what you would expect on a christmas pudding and we couldn’t taste the brandy in the sauce. Overall very dissapointing Spoilt our Christmas lunch for me. This is the very first time i have ever complained about a meal anywhere. Again disappointing for a 4 restaurant.
