"A treat for those cycling the Loire valley, the oldest hotel in town, very authentic and bijoux. As you would expect from a family run business who have been here since... well a long time.... the patrons have a second sense of what each guest needs, and who work tirelessly to make your stay unique. Bikes are secure, bike charging available, and the setting is perfect for exploring the old town. The restaurant courtyard area is particularly attractive in the summer, set in an oasis of plants and statues, with an impressive menu.... unbeatable (Traducido por Google) Una delicia para los ciclistas del valle del Loira, el hotel más antiguo de la ciudad, muy auténtico y bijoux. Como cabría esperar de un negocio familiar que ha estado aquí desde... bueno, mucho tiempo... los clientes tienen un segundo sentido de lo que cada huésped necesita y trabajan incansablemente para que su estadía sea única. Las bicicletas están seguras, hay carga para bicicletas disponible y el entorno es perfecto para explorar el casco antiguo. La zona del patio del restaurante es especialmente atractiva en verano, enclavada en un oasis de plantas y estatuas, con una carta impresionante... insuperable"

This small restaurant served us a truly delicious meal for a very reasonable cost. We had Gazpacho to start, which was fresh and extremely tasty. To follow we had Navarin of Lamb which was tender and delicious. Good food, well cooked, friendly service, excellent local wine all for a good price. Perfect.

Always a real pleasure (and it's been 13 years) to stop at the Ligérienne Auberge Côté Loire and to chat with Laurent and Thierry who welcome us! Step become a must for us, in a historical setting, a quiet cocoon ... away from impersonal hotels. Excellent restaurant that's more. Valerie Daniel Victorien and Anne Lise

We had the 34.50€ set meal and it was three courses of very good traditional french cookery. I had the Pâté d 'albertine with chicken livers to start with, fillet of sandre with cream of crustacean sauce for the main course, and a selection of cheese for the dessert course. Each dish was balanced and satisfying, and the food was cooked to a high standard. The service was friendly and comfortable. Overall it was a good standard, and what you expect from a Logie in France.

We arrived, by bike, to find ‘the hotel’ was closed until 5pm so had to fill time in, plus bikes, until the appointed hour: we wished we had known and would have been less disappointed. The hotelier, Thierry, was very good and the room was very pleasant. We couldn’t sample the food as it was Sunday so he wasn’t cooking but the kitchen looked impressive and was spotless. Breakfast was fine. The hotel was well placed and handy for all the eating establishments that were open.

"Restaurant Assa is situated a few km outside of Blois, on the West side along the road that follows the Lore. The restaurant is higher up and can be reached by an elevator. The view on the Loire is magnificent. We had dinner on an...evening in July and enjoyed the colors of the sun going down. Even when the sun got down, there was enough light to enjoy the view on the river and the many birds playing and feeding on the islands and low waters. We found the rpice quality and the experience really exceptional. The creativity and harmony of what was served was flabbergasting. On arrival, we received two mini-“amuses”. Nothing exceptional. We ordered aperitif, and received three more small amuse-bouche that were more original and better in line with what was going to follow. The restaurant offers you the possibility to order “blind”. We did not do this and had a look at the dishes before deciding for a menu with two first dishes, one main, one cheese and one desert. The cheese by the way, is another dish, but with one cheese being part (dominating) of the dish. So do not expect a cheese plate like you would get in “normal” restaurants. All dishes were exceptional of harmony and sophistication. The trademark of the restaurant is that each of the dishes is composed of three small dishes, with more or the same basic ingredients but prepared in different ways. All the dishes were exceptional, we were never disappointed. Because of the complexity of the dishes and of the ingredients used, the explanations you receive when being served are a lot of information to digest. We would have appreciated to get a more detailed explanation on paper, eventually at the moment of leaving the restaurant. One of the first dishes we had was we understood an emblematic dish of the chefs. Three small dishes based on foie gras, one like a small cold starter, one hot main course and a desert presented like a yoghurt. Original storytelling but most importantly three different and tasty experiences. We took the option to let the sommelier do the wine pairing. We recommend to do this as it costed 30 euro per person for 5 glasses of wine. We could never have chosen ourselves one or two appropriate wines as you cannot expect what will be on your plate. By the way, do not expect taste bombs, but expect originality, harmony and respect for the ingredients. We hope to be back one day in the region to visit again this exceptional place."
