"Discovered the restaurant while driving around Passau looking for somewhere to park on an evening in August. Entry is down what appears to be a back alley with entrance to left and toilets to right. Indoor seating area, and outside area in back yard the latter being the most poular when we visited. While walking through the interior however beware of floor level changes./steps which are not very visible. Staff friendly, but not as efficient as they could be. Menus available in English as well as German but the daily specials are not shown in the English menus. Tomato soup starter was delicious, rick, thick and creamy full of flavour. Mains my seafood pasta was very good, prawns, calamari, mussels in a rich sauce. Other pasta dishes were also enjoyed, the only let down being the pasta in tomato sauce, which was too thick and tasted too much of concentrated tomato. Desserts were very good, particularly the chocolate mousse, 3 quenelles, with sauce and fruit on the side. Had to ask 4 times for the bill before it arrived, but when it did the price was very reasonable."

"Wir waren unter der Woche da, Abends während der Happy Hour und haben zum Auftakt gleich mal zwei Jumbo-Cocktails für knapp 7 Euro bestellt. Da wir bereits von Freunden gehört hatten, dass die Portionen riesig sind, haben wir die Vorspeise ausgelassen und gleich Chicken Fajitas und Enchiladas bestellt. Die Portionen waren erwartungsgemäß groß und wir haben beide unser Essen nicht ganz geschafft. Geschmacklich war es im Mittelfeld - wir müssen leider sagen, dass es in Passau durchaus einen besseren Mexikaner gibt. Allerdings haben uns die Cocktails sehr gut geschmeckt (Touch Down, Planter's Punch und Mango Sapphire Mojito) und die Bedienungen waren supernett - das ist uns sogar ausdrücklich positiv aufgefallen.Wegen dem Essen müssen wir nicht mehr unbedingt rein, aber auf ein paar Cocktail kommen wir jederzeit gerne wieder!"

"We only stopped in for drinks while on the walk over from St. Stephan Cathedral to cross the river and make the climb up to the Oberhaus castle... the large patio overlooks the confluence of the Donau and Ilz - what a perfect setting to enjoy a large mug of the delicious Bavarian Heffeweise (wheat beer) - my son - only 15 - was jealous he did not get to enjoy a brew with his 18 year old cousin! The pretzels did look tempting. The service is table service only - large signs on the outdoor bar to the effect "Take-away Verboten" - but table service was quick and friendly - after our beers we were fortified to make the steep climb up to the castle - but it would be very easy to while away a sunny and pleasant afternoon quaffing multiple brews in this beer garden!"

"wir waren heute spontan und zufällig dort und ich muss sagen dass dies die seit mindestens 1 Jahr beste Pizza war. Speziell die Dinkelpizza( kleiner Aufpreis von ca. 1.80€ absolut gefechtfertigt) war genauso wie ich mir eine Pizza vorstelle. saftig und knusprig zugleich mit hochwertigem Belag. Die Lasagne super saftig und durch und durch heiss und g'schmackig. Das Service entspannt und angepasst an das Clientell. Chilli und Knoblauöl am Tisch ( könnte noch schärfer sein für meinen Geschmack) seh gut. Aperol gut gemischt. Wir kommen wieder und empfehlen Sie weiter."

"It was shortly before 10 pm and two other restaurants that had advertised having a kitchen open until 10 pm had already told me that the kitchen was, in fact, already closed. Roses was open and the waitress still let me order.I had the Cheesesteak 2 (steak, provolone, bell pepper, onion, mushroom), which came with a small salad dressed in oil and balsamic vinegar and steak fries. It was really a quality meal. The cheesesteak was one of the best I have ever had, and is definitely the best I have had in Germany. I could have eaten two. The fries were hot and fresh and cooked to perfection. The salad was OK, too - my only complaint there was that there were carrot and cucumber ribbons, which looked pretty but were hard to eat.If I remember correctly, the difference between Cheesesteak 1 and Cheesesteak 2 was sliced mushrooms, but the price difference was a euro. A euro seems a bit steep for a couple of pieces of mushroom, so if I return, I'd probably get the Cheesesteak 1 and save the euro. The other food on the menu sounded good, too.The waitress was very friendly and did an excellent job of managing the tables - at 10:30 p.m. on a Monday in winter, almost all of the tables were full and there was only one waitress working.Otherwise, the atmosphere was cozy - a shabby chic French café sort of place. Indie music was playing, and a little bit on the loud side, so if you're on a quiet date or looking for a place to meet up with friends and have a more serious conversation, this probably isn't it.Also, the beers are Hacklberger, but that's not printed on the menu - around here, there's always the risk of getting Graf Arco."
