"We stopped in here for lunch after the organ concert in the cathedral. It is so charming and cozy with a French there. We thought the food was very good though the waitress somehow misunderstood our order and failed to bring my husband's order. There...were four of us and she delivered three orders and left the table and didn't bring my husband's until he flagged her down. It might have been a communication issue when we were ordering. He eventually got his and we were all happy. It was a memorable meal and the cafe is really charming with a French vibe to it. Highly recommend it."

Spontaneously stopped here for lunch during our day trip to Passau with our river cruise. Nice little restaurant with good service and food. Our table ordered the schnitzel, burger, BLT, and two pastas- all very tasty.

This cafe in Passau we visited times in weekend. The starters are excellent and portions generous. We found the service excellent and when they didn’t have what we wanted on the menu, they made it happen. Dinner for with good wine euros

Cosy atmosphere. Great food with a choice of various things something for everyone. Reasonable prices again, something for every pocket. Good selection of drinks. Friendly service. We liked it so much we went back for coffee the next day.

After listening to a brilliant organ recital in the Cathedral, just as it started to rain, we stumbled across this lovely cafe with space inside. days into a week river cruise, we seriously wanted something simple tasty. The three of us had...different burgers and they were all fab. I'd thoroughly recommend searching out this great little place if you're in Passau.

We popped in for a light dinner due to the look from the out side. Cafe Roses is a quaint Cafe and well worth a try. Once inside we were greeted by a lovely warm interior, it was raining and cold outside, and a nice...welcome from the staff. We had the goats cheese dish and a hamburger, a glass of wine and a beer. All very simple but beautifully presented and very tasty. We would recommend Cafe Roses and will probably return before we leave Passau.

I went there today and I gave euros to the waitress . have ordered a Cappuccino. I waited for the waitress to bring back the rest of the money but she did not . I told her in English and started talking with me...with her very Bayerisch dialect . she shout out in front of everyone that she gave me back the rest . but actually she has sure that she has not. then she said if you feel fine for your Christmas I will give you your drink from my own money to make feel guilty . however, I will never go there although I liked its cosiness.

Café Roses is located in Passau in the pedestrian zone near the Cathedral. Drinks and simple dishes define its character. In summer you can dine at the terrace in from of the door. Service is adequate and friendly. Don’t expect gourmet dishes, the Café Roses...chefs go for easy food. We came on a Friday and the place was half busy. We went for a classical salad and Flamkuchen accompanied by a good glass of Bavarian beer. The food was OK but nothing special. We recommend Café Roses to anyone who seeks OK food in an unpretentious ambiance.

"Driving around Passau one lonely evening, our party stumbled across this restaurant whilst looking for something to eat. It looked decent on the outside, and parking was available, so we decided to go for it. One enters through an alleyway, with a toilet on one...side and a bountiful restaurant on the other. It is initially small in appearances on the inside, and we were led to a table in a dark but empty room being told that they could sit us in this darkness but that the outside was full. The waiter left to find a light for us; when he returned, however, we were told that they had found space for us outside. They had not lied when they said outside was full, we were led to the only table available in an entirely full medium-sized courtyard, and given English menus. Unfortunately, the daily specials were only in German, with Italian titles, and I ordered from the specials with my competent-but-limited German language skills. Seafood appeared to be the specialty in this restaurant's Italian cuisine which is, admittedly, a rarity among restaurants in Germany but this one seemed to pull it off exceptionally. My pasta dish consisted of scallops and tomato sauce, with a fish that I incorrectly translated on the menu as black bass (we later found out it was swordfish) and was very, very good. All other mains were thoroughly enjoyed, in various pasta forms from other Frutti di Mare variants all the way to vegetable and red meats. We did not initially intend to order dessert, but since we had enjoyed the previous two courses so much and the price was good we decided to stay for a sweet. The chocolate mousse similarly did not disappoint. Drinks were similarly very good. I sampled three of the wines whilst there, and all were excellent. The only thing that lets this restaurant down: once they have served you all the food that they think you will eat, they seem to forget about you. You will not order any more food after three courses; so it does not matter, in their eyes apparently, how long it takes to receive the bill. We waited over twenty minuets after first asking, with several more asks during the process. The goodbye was friendly, and with accompanying complimentary sweets which were appreciated, but the wait for the bill definitely unnecessary despite how good the food was and as a result I cannot leave this restaurant a five star rating."

"The PADU in Theresienstraße makes a somewhat inconspicuous impression of this, the house itself to the street even a little unattended. You can reach the restaurant through a narrow passage to the backyard/sinter house where there is a (quite outdoors and an indoor area. On the way there are a few steps to overcome, parking must be seen where to park (Old Town only. ERSTER EINDRUCK: Beautiful sunny courtyard and an elongate vault room with modern furniture, a single operation that hurls around the tables, a huge wood stove at the end of the guest room, discrete background music. The above-described situation with a view from the road. All in all, no reason not to return. So there is room with an overview and things that come. SERVICE: The service did its job well, even if it had time to do it right. The tone was rather student simple, wishes were partly recognized with a Jawoll!, for the cozy going out into the second (or more is this rather nothing, with young audiences who are just going through. You get your time to pick up food and drinks, unfortunately during the meal no demand whether it fits and if anything else needs. It was a bit more than OK, but it wasn't quite good. (that would be unfair to other 4-star prices, that is 3.5 stars. ESSEN: The menu consists of two boards that are bound together with cord, between DinA5 clear covers with the pages (always not directly from the printer, but they were designed correctly. The offer is usually pizza, salads and pasta, expensive meat or even fish dishes are not available here. I ordered a pizza Salvador (with many ingredients, including rocket, pepperoni, cherry tomatoes etc., in size 38cm to 10.90. After a reasonable time, I got the pizza on the table, a murder chest. Here I have to go straight to my pre-criticism, which was very active some time ago in Passau... he gave 5 stars I think to be clear too generous (also in another place I was already of a different opinion like him. The pizza was not bad, but sensational cheap it was also not, especially as I was pampered by my favorite pizza baker in Ortenburg. On the one hand I found the pizza a little flavored, on the table there was only salt and pepper TAXER... that were design objects, but tax remains scatterer, no matter how hip and elegant the appearance. I think I have to start a citizens' initiative with Wastel. Save the pepper mill. Then I kind of didn't fit the consistency. I can't explain it, but somehow the floor seemed a bit diligent, even if the pizza was well baked. I had trouble cutting. Some guests before me have already had this effort because my (Steak Knife was already a bit hacked (both strong pressing: one of the rivets connecting the plastic handle to the blade had jumped out. However, as I am a friend of solutions, I simply took another knife from the jug on the table (which was also significantly sharper later, I noticed how other guests ordered chili oil, the opportunity I also took and got a small tray with such glasses with recognisable chili and you hear and staunch garlic oil (with inlay). Why not offer? The other ingredients made a fresh impression. All in all, I can come out with great benevolence (of course also for the oil 3.5 stars. AMBIENTE AND SAUERKEIT: Here I can see myself briefly, it was all recognizable clean, the room is cozy, especially the courtyard invites you to stay... there I give you 4 more. PLV: For my 10,90 I have a huge pizza, but I wasn't very happy with it, so I'll take half a star. There are also cheaper lunches, but I didn't test them. FAZIT: It was already okay, maybe even a little more, but from the chair it did not break me and I cannot sign the 5 stars of my pre-criticism. For me personally, there are some other places that still want to test so that we can have a visit for a while."
