Great place, beautiful location, relaxed, informal and very friendly. Food typical of region and lots of it. Staff very helpful and willing to share their knowledge of the area, its cuisine and wine. Will be going back.

Love this friendly, family run restaurant. We have been several times, always had lovely food, great choice from the menu but will also oblige if something different is required. Lovely fresh fish, homemade pizza and pasta together with a beautiful view. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

we stayed in the family at lunch, we had the opportunity to get delicious dishes, high-level products. the chef and his staff are very careful to explain to you well what you are eating to improve even more the products used. great also to recommend wine and deserts. to return as soon as possible!

I was in this place thanks to a smartbox emotion, for a series of cold and hot appetizers x2. What to say, pleasantly surprised by the rich and delicious dish made of excellent and delicious products of the territory, curious also from the rich menu I finished taking also a first and a second, very good both. competent and friendly chef/owner, hospitable and available. Quiet taverna, with stunning views high up on the side of the Majella. A family run business providing traditional food and wine from the region. Excellent value for money with good all around service. Dining is inside with ample room, simple with colourful decor. The venue also has a nice terrace during the warmer months for al fresco. Definitely worth a visit up to the taverna simply for the views if visiting Palombaro. Closed Mondays.

Food is always good when the chef patron is in the kitchen. Good for late night meals, when you can sit on the terrace in the velvet Abruzzo evening. Specialises in local food, good charcuterie, home made pasta. Always worth asking what the specials are, rather than blindly ordering off the menu. I avoid the pizza, which is not typically Abruzzan anyway, but a typical Italian eatery. At certain intervals the chef throws themed evenings, based on a typical ingredient baccalau, or truffle, with a vast array of dishes to a fixed (and modest) price. These are splendid affairs, and absolutely not to be missed!

Arrived not knowing where I was going and was met by Leonardo who quickly showed me my room. The room was lovely and comfortable with a great view of the valley towards the lake and Casoli and Palombaro. The food here is absolutely delicious and plenty of it... beware if you are not a big eater because the portions are large : The staff Adriano and Disaree (Leonardo's wife I think? are very very helpful and full of fun. There attention to you having a great experience is second to none. All in all a great place to stay and eat and at very reasonable prices. As i have just bought an apartment in Palombaro I will definately be eating here and recommending people to stay when I am over.

We walked in on a Thursday 2pm, sat down and had a very warm welcome from the waitress. The restaurant is tucked away in a quiet location and was busy considering the location. She immediately gave us water, half a glass of presecco and a starter-sized dish of carrot and olive oil mash (sounds bad, but was delicious! and bread, which was so lovely and unexpected! We ordered the 3 mini starters for our starter, you get to choose any 3 starters and they serve you mini portions of any 3 you choose, for 13 euro. The portions are SO generous, and delicious. We arrived in the dark not really knowing quite where we where! In the morning Jude opened the curtains and was totally astounded by the most spectacular sunrise and views over the hills towards the sea with the mists flowing in the valleys. The rooms were clean and most comfortable. There is a common lounge area beneath the restaurant just outside the rooms where we stayed that we used to share a bottle of wine with friends we made upstairs during our meal! Breakfast was a huge spread of cheese, cereal, meats, toast, bread and eggs as you want. This was enjoyed with views to die for out of the windows.
