"I can see what the restaurant is trying to do but a few strange flavour combinations. The menu is extensive, lots of options which all sounded lovely. We had three courses which were all presented really well: Starter both chose to have the scallops which were lovely but paired with smoked salmon and chorizo sushi which didn't quite work. We'd have preferred the chorizo to be just paired with scallops without the sushi part (we do love sushi but it just didn't match in flavour for us) Main Piri Piri Chicken Kebab was lovely and presented well! But each element didn't quite go together. The side salad had a pesto dressing which was very tasty but with the Piri Piri flavours didn't work perhaps a mint based salad would work better. The chips were also lush in a cheese and truffle sauce but again, didn't match in flavour with the main dish. Without the truffle oil would have been fine Castle Signature Dish (smoked haddock chorizo risotto) this again was a lovely dish but my partner didn't feel the balsamic complimented the rest of the flavours Dessert Anglesey Sea Salted Caramel Cheesecake with Kinda Bueno ice cream sounds lovely, didn't live up to expectations and I am a cheesecake lover who always has room to order one. I can't pin point exactly why but it was almost a mousse texture and the base more like a diem bar. The bueno ice cream just tasted like chocolate ice cream and unfortunately my scoop was full of freezer burn ice Mixed Berry Creme Brûlée can't fault this other than limited berries included was very tasty. Staff were very polite, friendly and attentive however, didn't like the 10% service charge automatically added as we personally like to choose the amount we leave. By the time we'd waited for the bill we wanted to leave as we'd had a long day and didn't want to ask for the charge to be taken off so paid it. Staff are 100% deserving of a tip as they were lovely but it would be nice to have the option of what to leave."

We stopped by this charming restaurant and inquired about available tables. The lady and Will on duty were extremely helpful and found a table for us. The food and drinks were delicious.

We had a lovely meal with excellent service. The moules were exceptional, and the steak cooked to perfection. Because of a mix-up over the sauce, the steak was replaced without a quibble. We would highly recommend this restaurant and will be visiting again next time we come to Conwy.

An excellent evening at the delightfully quaint Castle Hotel for dinner. The food was tremendous , Drinks properly chilled and good quality. Our waitress was Chloe. She’s a gift to service and attended to us with efficiency and charm. Thank you everyone for looking after us so well. We ll be back really soon.

My wife and I went to the restaurant for lunch. Based on all of the positive reviews we made a point to eat at the restaurant. We were promptly seated. After that, we waited and waited…and waited for a server. After 20 minutes of no one making any attempt to acknowledge us, we got up and walked out. Our time is valuable and we didn’t appreciate sitting around like that. We ended up going to the Five for food. Great service and food there.

We used to eat regularly here when it was Shakespeare’s and were surprised how average it was. The menu still said Autumn specials and it’s May . Menu was just like a pub menu but inflated prices . Staff very inexperienced albeit very sweet . Lack of non alcoholic drinks were surprising just beers and bottles just plonked on tables . My starter wasn’t available, why ? It’s a Saturday night . Meal was tasty but not memorable not even instagram photo worthy . Generally nothing like standard in past. Disappointing.

The food at this restaurant was delicious, but unfortunately, the service was very poor. When my family of four arrived, our order was taken promptly and our drinks and appetizers arrived quickly. However, we waited over an hour for our main course and were informed that there had been a mistake with our order. While the food was good, we felt neglected as we were not given the opportunity to order dessert and had to go to the front desk to request our bill. The servers seemed more interested in chatting with other customers than attending to our needs. Overall, this was a disappointing experience for our last night in Conwy. I would recommend skipping this restaurant and dining at the Erski... Ver carta

After reading recent reviews, I was apprehensive about booking a table at this restaurant. However, the menu intrigued me with its gluten-free options, so we decided to give it a try. To our relief, there was no need to worry as the service and food were excellent. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and engaging with our two children. For my meal, I enjoyed the smoked haddock rosti with egg as a starter and the signature castle chorizo and haddock risotto as my main course, both of which were delicious. I finished with a mixed berry crème brûlée, which was equally satisfying. Our daughters ordered three courses from the children's menu, and to our surprise, the children's meals were compl...

My husband and I had a voucher off our son and family for Christmas for this restaurant. We booked a table for lunch for the 10th May 2023, when we arrived we were asked did we want to eat in the bar or the restaurant, but were told the restaurant wasn't used at lunch time usually during the week. we were shown to our table in the bar area. We ordered a starter each and a mains. My husband had ham hock terrine which was nice but the watercress was limp and past it's sell by date. Price £7:95. My goat's cheese brochette dish was mediocre. £7.25 We had ordered the Llandudno Bistro steak for mains- the mushroom served with it was larger than the steak-I asked for a baked potato with my steak but...

"Whenever I get the inclination to write a review it’s usually because it’s so good and I want to shout about my experience to everyone… however this is not my usual 5* recommendation! As locals we have visited this cafe on a few occasions for breakfast or a coffee stop. It’s a great location, nice decor, dog friendly and delicious food. What’s not to like? Well, the staff, or more specifically the owner! She lacks any customer service skills, she smiles through gritted teeth, orders her staff around while she stands observing (or waiting for an argument . Each time we’ve visited she’s had an issue with something. Once she argued with me because I asked for my latte to be served in a cup rather than a tall glass. She proceeded to try and educate me on coffee making (I’m barista trained ! She reluctantly gave me it to me in a mug with a jug of extra milk which wouldn’t fit into the mug anyway! More recently we arrived, it was quiet, and chose to sit in the window (the largest table as we had our dog and didn’t want him to be in the way. She rushed over and demanded we sat at another table because she “couldn’t afford for us to take up a larger table”. We moved without an issue but she was very confrontational (as always and made the rest of our dining experience uncomfortable. So uncomfortable in fact that despite being ravenous we almost didn’t order. The cafe remained quiet throughout our time there, plenty of empty tables and yet she proceeded to use the larger window table to accommodate her staff, herself and a friend who popped in. How is that fair? So my advice to you as a fellow catering/ hospitality manager is… Learn from your Trip Advisor feedback, Book yourself on a free customer service course and lead by example and if you are worried about costs reduce the number of staff. 5 staff on duty in a cafe that seats approx 25 people at full capacity is not needed. Maybe the owner should put her feet up at home and let the lovely younger people do their thing. They all look so nervous around her and are almost too afraid to speak. I’m sure they’d do a far better job without her monitoring their every move. Even the Chef (her husband maybe? looks petrified of her!! Certain people are not cut out for customer facing roles and she is one of them! I’m pretty sure she doesn’t read any of these reviews as she’s been like this since my first visit 5 years ago!! What a shame. This place could be a thriving business and a welcoming village cafe but I’m sure her confrontational attitude and unwelcoming nature put people off from returning. Such a shame as the food and coffee are delightful"
