Denkmahl - Carta

Family of four getting a good variation spread of the entire menu card. Sat outside on the terrace and fully enjoyed both food, service and atmosphere. Definitely worth swinging by denkMAHL if you are in Kassel.

seating in a very cozy atmosphere, super friendly service and a selection of dining that is a mix of modern style and "grandmother's kitchen". they will love it! Do not forget reservations or simply be there off the high times. open daily from 11 am to 11 pm.

the signature dish denkmahl kalbsschnitzel with potato puree and salat was high quality and freshly prepared. no critique, and I am picky :-) with a pils in the beer garden. the personal is friendly and the reservation for a table in free has worked perfectly. reservation recommended, at least during documenta time ... denkMAHL is fully recommended. The steak was perfectly fried, the salmon were beautifully tender and the sparse were fallen from the bones. To the steak and the rib there were thick pommes, nice crispy and the risotto to the salmon was also great. The whole thing was to take away, after a drive of 15 minutes everything was still hot and, as I said, everything was great. The guest room looked very welcoming from the entrance and we can hardly expect to eat it here at the outskirts.

I have eaten in this gem of a restaurant after I happened to have bumped on it. the restaurant was full and the waitress apologised that our eating could last longer than usual. this was not the case, our food came promptly. it was delicious and exactly what we were looking for. the pudding was delicious with a medley from earthy and celestial. the wee was great and the bill at the end was appropriate. best was the service of a very busy but always smiling waitress. would definitely recommend.

Friday evening we had the luck to find a table for four people! at 19:00 we got a place inside due to many reservations! the selection is typical German, but with influences from southern Europe! we started to share some appetizers of flax and antipasti for 2 (vegetarian), super! as a main dish I had rippchen with Mango-Chutney, pommes and sweet, also very good! the waitresses have made it great job, which serves all customers instantly, without the opportunity to rest, impressive crew! desserts were also something we will remember! good start for our visit at documenta 14 Ver carta

Food was very mediocre, vegetables as starter were more or less standard made, reason for ordening only for 2 persons is unknown, as for main dish : runderrollade had very dry meat and was swimming in indefinite sauce, potato smashed came with a lot of...butter. Most irritating was apparently father of the owner who was walking on terrace all the time and pouring wine in already full glasses ! At our table after we have obviously finished the dinner he went asking if we wanted another bottle ! Driven by apparently economic incentive at the moment of payment he even asked us to give a tip ! Quite astonishing and impolite !

we visited in the early evening with a 4-strong family. although all the tables were reserved, the friendly waitress found a table for us. the service began well, with smiling, helpful young waitresses who served our food and our wine efficiently. I chose the steak in tweeping, which was delicious, although it was rather small, other dishes we chose were perfect, just like the wee. However, during the dessert course we were apparently overlooked and had to wait over half an hour before our order was received. after dessert we had to wait another half an hour until I went to the counter and demanded the bill. We chose this place because it had a very nice outdoor terrace and we felt like trying some German food.Finding some Italian dishes on the menu was not a nice discovery.All in all we spent a very nice evening.The food was good,without any outstanding dishes,at...least among the ones we ordered.The appaling thing was the service,namely one of the waitresses.She was really abrupt in her communications (and we don’t think it was just a language issue! ,she didn’t inform us that the kitchen was about to close (so we couldn’t order the dessert ,she came to ask if we were done while we still had food on our plates and brought us the bill without having asked for it.Very rude and certainly a reason...
