"When we visited, it was a nice sunny day and there was a short queue for getting coffee. I originally thought they this was a good sign. The place must be popular for a good reason. The small queue however took ages to move. I actually found out that it was because there was only one girl doing the till, sorting the cakes and making the coffee. No wonder it was took forever. It seemed like a disorganised mess. We managed to get one of our coffees made to order, but they had trouble making the second one with almond milk. It is 2022 all these different milk types are pretty standard in most cafes now and shouldn't be a big deal. It is something that the cafe say they offer, but this seemed to be a huge challenge for them. The almond milk coffee was brought to us a full 10 minutes after the other one was (no exaggeration). The first coffee was getting cold by the time we got the second one. The coffee was genuinely the worst I have tasted in a while. If you like coffee to taste like anything other than hot water, then this is not a place to visit. Unfortunately the place reminded me more of an old ‘tuck shop’ selling packets of crisps and tasteless vending machine coffee, rather than a nice cafe. Sorry for the bad review, but we were very disappointing. On a separate note, the young girl behind the counter (the one doing everything) was really nice and friendly."

Called in Today and had Quiche. It was the best I have ever tasted. Well Worth a Visit. A regular stop off on our dog walks in future.

We got excited seeing vegan milkshake and coffee on the menu but the coffee was really weak instant coffee and the regular milkshake they served us was barely a third full. Not impressed.

This is now a lovely place to stop for lunch, had a beautiful veggie breakfast this lunch, pipping hot, well cooked and presented. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. They follow the covid cleaning rules and smile while they work. Going again

Had a lovely autumn walk around Shipley Country Park then stopped for brunch here. Such nice friendly staff and they sounded so happy in their work. Had delicious three cheese toastie and hubby had full English breakfast. Love the idea of putting little tea cosys on each table to keep your pot warm. We chose to sit inside but there is also a lovely garden setting too. Well worth a visit and will be doing so again.

Currently only open limited hours Thursday to Sunday, for outside tables or takeaways, but highly recommended and a lovely spot, especially as they've now opened up tables in the garden round the back. A good selection of cakes and hot cold drinks and snacks, also breakfast cobs and more. we had an excellent bacon egg cob and a fish finger sandwich this morning, and we always try to stop here on our walk round the park.

We only popped in for a quick drink on our walk round the top end of the park Excellent pot of tea for me and no complaints from husband regarding his flat white coffee We couldn't resist a slice of lemon cake too. Very lemony and very light. I could have managed another one Charming and helpful young lady behind the counter couldn't have looked after us any better Best of all was the garden.Quiet apart from birdsong with big tables and a choice of sunny or shady seats. What more could we want? I'll tell you A bigger appetite. We shall return

As if Shipley Park isn 't lovely enough there is also this rather nice eatery to visit as well! Only visitable on foot as disabled parking only. Nicely decorated, very homely inside, dog friendly, outdoor seating as well with some tables overlooking the park. Just a 'snack stop ' to ward off hungry teenagers this visit. Great to see a good few veggie/vegan options on the menu just had to try the vegan sausage rolls, they didn 't disappoint. And can recommend the 'proper ' homemade chips as well. Drinks all good. Staff friendly, obviously happy in their work. Left wanting to return and try other items always a good sign.

I visited today with my Dad and My dog. We’d planned to eat at the visitor centre but halfway around the walk we found this lovely little place. The staff were the friendliest I’ve ever experienced and were so lovely and accommodating! I had a bacon and hash brown cob which they were happy to do well done for me and my Dad had a tea and sausage roll. We also bought a couple of sausages for my dog and they kindly cut them up for her without us having to ask! Lovely scenic place to eat, dog and covid friendly and the prices were extremely reasonable for a wide range of food and drink items. Definitely will be visiting again and thankyou to the lovely lady who served us!

"we enjoyed another very pleasant dinner at the Dog’ in pentrich recently. it is a very civilized but relaxed escaping area, and the type of place where people are miles for, for the culinary experience traveling and with good ground. eating is good. the dining room is spacious, contemporary and beautifully furnished with a relaxed ambiente. also the adjacent bar area is very cozy and cozy. we were warmly welcomed and immediately shown on our table. the service was attentive and pleasant, without being overlaid or intrusive. our meals were very pleasant and we enjoyed the selection of things we had (start, head and dessert). However, it seemed to be some unconsistencies with a portion size. with the appetizers the leek and the potato portion was very small a piece laek about two centimeters long filled with cheese and in a sea of sauce to convey the grasp of “more”. the crispy szechuan cauliflower and aubergine, on the other hand, contained large parts of the two components of the teller. similar to the net, the green thai chicken contained three very large portions of huh in different shapes: a large chicken breast as the main component of the Thai chicken shell, accompanied by a huge serving of shredded chicken in rice, and a huge Bao beer filled with a large piece of baked chicken. while the various components were delicious, it was just chicken overload, almost like three main dishes as one, and much too much. the same applies to the puddings we have chosen. the dog inn trifle was a huge bowl with lemon-rossel sponge, with white chocolate-creuzard, and celestial gel and sorbet. the yorkshire rhubarb cheesecake, on the other hand, was a very small roll of cheesecake with a puppy game of rhubarb sorbet and a few pieces of poached rhubarb. our meals were certainly delicious, and we enjoyed them. the hanger steak was cooked nicely after a discussion about it; it was clearly stated on the menu that the hanger steak was ‘Served ‘Pink or well Done’, but we were informed that it could not be ordered well. which condition is then on the menu? the dog is worth looking. it is in the beautiful and historical village pentrich, on the b1016 between the towns ripley and alfreton in derbyshire. we're coming back."
