"Had a great evening in the family-restaurant "La Pergola". Very warm and helpfull service, Nice place to spend time there and eat and drink typical italian food and wines. Not a very big menue, but also daily accomandations on a chalk board. Nice crispy pizza, homemade fresh noodles, a choice of fresh starters and salads and not to forget the amazing dessertsdone by Sara. The best was to enjoy the deep fried calamaretti with a salad. Great!For what you get prices for food and wine are more than ok.And for warm summer nights you can also enjoy your evening an a cosy and greenterasse behind. On my opinion you can only better enjoy in Italy - Sicilia, where thefamily coes from - may be!!!"

"We ordered their 7 dishes entree for two, and the stuffed chicken with dates. The first dish took about 45mins to arrive, and the second a further 30min. Well, ok sometimes that happens. But the food was not at all inspiring. For the entree, one of the dishes had a distinct burnt taste,and the one of the 7 that was hot, was only hot on the outside, inside it was stone cold. The rest were uninspiring. Tomato sauce, hummus, tahini, mayo... all tasted like they came out of a jar. For the stuffed chicken, the chicken was ok, a little dry, but ok. But the sauce and the veges were a very confused jumble of somewhat bitter flavours, served with gluggy rice, again bitter from the orange peel, and the same pretty ordinary flat breads we had in the first course. I have to say that this was the worst meal i can remember eating out in a long time."

"The Cafe Cup is fine I guess. I know a lot of people like it for it's cozy and Bohemian atmosphere, and drinkable coffee, which is fine. But the food is not really worth it. The service is also, well.... serviceable. I ordered cake there a few times with friends and it was fine, but nothing to write home about. Better, in fact than the food. My husband went last week for lunch, and I ordered a panini. It took forever to come. Unfortunately, I got a toasted sandwich, which is not exactly a panini. The salad I ordered was not too fresh, and the dressing a tad too oily. My husband ordered a cheese plate, and rather than little chunks of cheese, was served little slices, which was weird. My hot chocolate wasn't "real" hot chocolate- it was just powder mixed in with barely warm milk. The whipped cream was from a can. He wasn't overwhelmed with his cheeseplate, but still managed to eat it. We wouldn't go back, except maybe if our friends who really likes the place wanted us to come, and if we do, we will stick to cappuccino and cake. That's your best bet. But cute place, really fine for coffee."

"Bereits beim Betreten des sehr gemütlichen Lokals wird man mit italienischer, familiärer Gastfreundschaft begrüßt, meistens – wenn alle da sind – wird man von der ganzen Familie begrüßt und zum Tisch begleitet. Die Speisen zeichnen sich aus durch ausreichende Mengen, äußerst gute, konstante Qualität und kreative Ideen. Neben gängigen italienischen Gerichten gibt es immer eine wechselnde, frische Karte mit frischem Fisch (hier ist die Seezunge auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen) und die Familie Maiolo ist auch immer bereit, sich Sonderwünschen und anderen Ideen zu widmen. Man sollte auf jeden Fall nach Pizzabrötchen fragen anstelle von Brot, denn das kommt immer warm und passt bestens zu Carpaccio, gebratenen Austernpilzen und gegrillten Zucchini. Man muss gar nicht die gesamte Karte herunterbeten, aber was man sagen muss ist, dass alles, von Antipasti, Salaten über Pasta bis hin zu fantastischem Fleisch (Kalb, Rind, Lamm, ... ) und Fisch einfach sehr lecker ist!!! Ein Dessert muss man eigentlich nicht bestellen, da die Gastgeber meistens von selbst etwas auf’s Haus servieren, gepaart mit einem guten Digestiv. Auch hier bleiben keine Wünsche offen, denn neben den ‚klassischen’ Dingen wie Ramazotti, Baileys oder Limoncello verfügt die Familie Maiolo über erstklassige, sehr besondere Grappasorten etc. Ein weiterer Punkt, der zur Wohlfühlatmosphäre beiträgt und zum Genuss ist, dass der „Juniorchef“ Rocco Maiolo frisch seine Prüfung zum Sommelier abgelegt hat und somit stets für den perfekten flüssigen Begleiter zum Essen sorgt! Somit lässt sich sagen, rundum ist hier eine Wohlfühlatmosphäre geschaffen, die man stets zu spüren bekommt, ausgezeichnet durch geniales italienisches Essen, familiäre Gastfreundschaft, extreme Kompetenz (egal wie voll der Laden ist, was häufig der Fall ist, niemand wird vergessen, benachteiligt behandelt o.ä.!!!) und natürlich dem Charme der Gastgeber :) Weiter so!"
