One of the most elegant restaurant in the town. Garlic soup is realy good but I can not say same thing for beefs. Rumpsteak that I had was very hard and taestless even I could have not finished. Also my son was not happy with his pepper steak. Service is excellent.It is not cheap but I can say they are fair.

Mein Mann und ich waren zweimal dort essen und waren beide Male begeistert. Das Ambiente ist super niedlich und rustikal eingerichtet, das Personal ist super freundlich und das Essen ist einfach unfassbar lecker. In unserem nächsten Urlaub kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder.! Parking: Dorfkrug hat einen eigenen Parkplatz wo ausreichend Platz zu finden ist.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Kaprun. The place is fairly new only a couple of years old but has been done in a really nice, traditional chalet style, very typically austrian but all new! The staff are not the friendliest in Kaprun but their food is always really good. If you have never tried a vienner schnitzel before, try one here! The pizzas are all excellent too in fact we have never had a bad meal here. The bonus in this place is that there is a playroom for the children!

The hotel I stayed at in Kaprun in Sept. 09 had recommended the Dorfkrug as authentic austrian cuisine. We followed that recommendation, only to be disappointed by service and food alike. The food took forever to come, was not cooked properly, and the Kaiserschmarrn, THE Austrian dessert, was not cooked enough and came more in it 's dough form than in the crispy sugary crunching state that I would be expecting. After our substantiated complaints about the kitchen, we were offered a Digestif (which in principle is something I could have lived with), only to find they were pouring us the cheapes liquory stuff (not the straight and high quality schnaps you would expect in a country that has soo...

4 stars for the kitchen. The food is excellent as well as the Ambiente of the restaurant. The service is unfortunately not on the same level as the kitchen. When we ordered dishes to share for 4 people we ordered 3 Appetizers and only one main dish. The way the waiter looked at us was how stingy can you be, never a thought that guests might not be able to actually eat such large portions. Again I can only compliment the chef. Food is excellent. And then when we left the restaurant we wanted to take a picture of the beautiful decoration. As I put my jacket over the hand rail and it barely touched the Christmas tree the bar man was just short of scolding me that I dare touch his Christmas tree...
