Really friendly staff and customers. Dog friendly. Recommended the homemade pie.

Not a good experience on this occasion. I had steak pie, couldn't eat it the filling was dry and hard. Won't be eating again

While walking by this pub, I decided to stop in for a quick drink. I think it's important for bar staff to prevent customers from using excessive swearing. However, when a member of the staff is the one using inappropriate language, it gives the impression that the pub is not a suitable place to bring a lady or business associate. This occurred on 24/11/22.

If there's one thing I can say about this place is that it's amazing! It's been My local for a long long time. I will not go many other places, The atmosphere is so . chilling, I always feel calm and right at home. The staff have became friends and the landlady cannot do enough to make your visit welcoming , just feel as though we have an extended family. Thank you team Duke for always making us feel welcome

Met two friends for a light lunch and reserved our table ahead in the tap room as my friends have a well behaved dog. You can reserve In the Lounge area too where we have dined before all good rooms The food was promptly served piping hot like homemade quality chicken and mushroom pie chips garden peas and lovely tasty gravy. Great choices on the reasonably priced menu. All three of us enjoyed our meals very much. Ver carta

I had my event in the private function room at this restaurant and I was impressed with the perfectly laid out decorations. We had the room booked for 6 o'clock and we arrived on time, but the DJ that was arranged through the restaurant showed up only 5 minutes before the start time. It took him an hour to start playing our playlist, which was not acceptable. Overall, the organization, attitude, and communication could have been much better on his part. However, the bar staff were helpful and friendly, and the food, although basic, was what we expected.

Proper local friendly pub with a really good range of quality beers and other falling down water's, outstanding home made food,really good atmosphere helped along by the fantastic patrons and staff, kids, dogs and Morris Dancers are all welcome, free music supplied from a iPad on the wall (bring your own five year old to operate it if required) all are welcome to pop there favourite tunes on, live music once a month, Sky and BT Sports with Bar Billiards, Darts board, Skittles, Quiz night, Open the Box, Sticky 13's and other prize winning games to boot... I have been here before but not recently. First impressions today were not good. Our table was booked for 12:00 and the lady who unlocked the door disappeared into the kitchen and nobody else appeared for a few minutes. There were no menus either. Eventually a young girl came and gave us a menu and served us drinks. We ordered the steak and mushroom pie and it was absolutely delicious. All home cooked and piping hot. Good value at £6.95. This pub used to be very busy on a Sunday and it’s a shame that it isn’t the case now. It has recently been refurbished and is clean with a nice decor. The food is definitely 5 star if you don’t want anything fancy just home cooked tasty food. The staff are... Ver carta
