A snooty prestensious restaurant operating out of a flee-bitten, dog-eared old pub in a weird, inbred area at the back end of nowhere. Ver carta

The Eagle and child is an old charming pub rightly considered to be the best pub in the area, it regularly features in the good food and good beer guides.

Booked for lunch on Sunday. Although didn’t have the roast (saw plenty being served and did look really nice) Food we had was served promptly and was super tasty. Really enjoyed it. Staff friendly enough too. Will defo return

Extremely poor service (50 minutes from seating on time for our table until starters finally came). Similar story for the mains. We’d booked this birthday meal months in advance, yet the manager suggested we should be more patient as we were a large table (8 people by the way). Not the place it used to be. Ver carta
