"During my visit to London from Nova Scotia, Canada, I stayed in a building adjacent to the Edgar Wallace the week of September 18th. One evening around 9:30pm, I popped into the pub to see if their kitchen was still open. A friendly gentleman informed me that it was not, but asked what I would like to eat and said they could possibly prepare something for me. I was touched by his kindness. It turns out he and his wife are the owners of the pub. I ended up sitting with them for a pint and had a lovely conversation about Nova Scotia and London. I was happy to have met them and always exchanged greetings with them throughout the week. The pub was consistently busy during lunchtime and after work hours. Though I did not catch their names, this encounter left me with a fond memory of London. On my last evening, I enjoyed a few pints and chatted with some of the regulars. Cheers to my new friends at the Edgar Wallace! Thank you for providing me with a warm and welcoming experience in your corner of London."

Amazingly decorated pub, with loads of pump clips, advertising signs, cigarette paraphernalia and as it's December, Christmas decorations. Very friendly pub, customers and staff alike. Littlr hidden gem off the beaten track.

I really enjoyed this pub. It has a lot of charm, a great atmosphere, and the staff are very welcoming. They offer a good variety of ales. The location is fantastic, being near The Strand, Fleet Street, and Somerset House. Although my visit was short, I plan to return to spend more time there. Ver carta

an eclectic small oasis south of the fleet street. warm friendly service. many beer in the offer and run a few Cask-Ales. the walls are covered in a large number of pear mats and other souvenirs of past days. a few extraordinary puppensoldaten that guards the bar, worth a visit for this alone. a beautiful addition to this wonderful part of london.

My first visit to a London pub since lockdown March 2020. I headed straight to Edgar Wallace for an excellent pint or two of brewers Gold with a toasted cheese and ham sandwich. Greeted well by the landlady and her staff, didn't seem like I hadn't been their for over eighteen months. Looking forward to a return visit now that we are out and about again, Cheers.

I have used this pub regularly for the last few years when meeting up with a couple of old friends. Great pint of real ale, plenty of choice, pleasant atmosphere and not too busy in the afternoons. Not tried the food but looks good pub grub. Brilliant wall posters. Every conceivable advertising poster- capstan full strength; brylcream; the whole lot from yesteryear. Ver carta

Located on a quaint side street in the heart of the city, The Edgar is a charming traditional London pub. The cozy square-shaped room is adorned with vintage tobacco memorabilia, including old cigar and cigarette packets, advertising posters, and beer mats on the ceiling. Upstairs, additional seating and restrooms can be found. The menu is simple, offering a selection of toasted sandwiches with chips, all priced at £9.50. While basic, the sandwiches are delicious with thick bread and generous fillings. The pub serves a variety of ales from smaller London breweries and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

Located on Essex Street around the corner from where Fleet Street meets The Strand St Marys church area. Named after the famous crime writer and erstwhile journalist there is lots of memorabilia on the rather ' busy ' walls that also have posters and plaques of old adverts . The ceiling is covered in beermats ! Busy pub for tourists and a feeder pub from nearby central law courts very busy lunchtime and after work. Good atmosphere. Tradtional pub fayre. A classic London pub dates back to 1777. No laptops allowed ! YES i personally get rather annoyed when people take over tables having a laptop meeting and nursing a half pint !

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
