"My wife loves meat. I don't eat meat. That's why I checked out the El Sur menu on the internet prior to heading out. The web site said the restaurant is open from noon to 10PM. We arrved at 17:45 and were told that the kitchen opens at 18:30. No big deal. Ordered a couple of draft beers only to have the waitress return to advise us that they are having trouble with the draft but we can have bottled beer. No big deal. Ordered a coulpe of beers. When it was time to order, we ordered the 200gr filet and the Pulpo (octapus). The waitress returned saying no octapus tonight. No big deal. I ordered the vegetarian burger (always have a fallback position...). The waitress came back apologizing, no veg burger tonight but would I like to try their excellent Polenta. Well, what wouldn't I do for the wife to have her steak? The Polenta was pretty bad (understatement). The filet was ok, but just ok. It came with no accompaniment and the mediocre fry's were €5 extra. All in all - find another place to eat! And if you crave a fantastic Argentinian steak, try the Argentinian restaurant in Montparnasse."

Really good meat, and great wine by the glass or botle. The best malbec ever! And the panqueques with dulce de leche are amazing. I would highly recommend El Sur.

Somos de Uruguay! El lugar es súper lindo y la comida deli! Comimos carne y empanadas. Tomamos vino. No es barato pero los precios se adecuan a la calidad de las cosas. El Sur también existe!!

A casual restaurant serving Argentinian beef. Great options, delicious cuts of meat well made with great accompanying wines. Well priced. It is a good option if you are craving a good steak. Book on La Fouchette and note the discount if you eat early.

Excellent Argentinian Restaurant in Paris. Only Argentinian meat imported directly by the owner. The empanadas are very good, the polenta also very good, the sirloin, and the baby beef Great. Very good wines from Mendoza, not very expensive by the glass and by the bottle. One of us asked for a Lagarde Cabernet Franc wine; Excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant if you like good meat and great wines.

Great place for your Argentinian cravings in Paris. Try the empanadas, provoleta (grilled cheese) or chorizo (grilled sausage, not to be confused with the Spanish version). I still have to come back to try the beef. The staff is great, very helpful, and authentically Argentinian. You can also get many different brands of Yerba mate here, from Argentina and Uruguay, as well as other maté equipment. And of course there’s Quilmes beer and a lot of different Malbecs. If you’re lucky you might even run into a table of expat San Lorenzo fans discussing the latest football/soccer match...
