"I love pubs! How many times do you hear that? I only properly discovered them 18 years ago because in France, although we have our cafes, they are nothing like pubs. I fairly quickly categorised them because when you think about it, they are all different. The best description for me for this one is a town pub full of character. I discovered it thanks to a friend and started going to hold a French Conservation group. I have only had drinks so far and believe me if you are after reasonable prices you have to go to the Gladstone. I have recently paid £2 in another place for a soda and lime. Here they charge you £0.30. And before you ask, no, it's not because it's served in a shot glass. When you enter the premises you will notice first the space. It has got room but you also can decide to sit in a smaller area. There is a fire place which is really nice especially at this time if the year. I went last Saturday to meet with a friend and we decided to have something to eat. If you want a night out but your are on restricted budget this is the place where to go. Ok the menu doesn't give you a massive choice as some do but in fact think about it, it won't take you too long to make your decision. The choice is good and the prices quite low. If you are vegetarian they certainly have thought about you. I am not but to be fair I've always wondered why the choices seem to be so restricted for those who are when eating out? I ended with the chilly beef and cheese. I like the fact you can choose to have it with rice or bread. The serving is good and I really enjoyed it. It was very tasty. The staffs work hard, are very pleasant and easy to interact with which is exactly what you want in a pub. It's a place with great atmosphere. And if you enjoy watching tv in a pub this is certainly the place where to go. It was a very reasonable and enjoyable night out. I'll be back!"

"I have made a booking with the restaurant based on the menu, but when we arrived we got a completely different menu based on covid and outside the rate. but that should have been specified on the website! the bench was not to be expected, and I was not yet in the restaurant, was not at all comfortable. I also called in advance to find out if there were outside heaters, as I brought children, was said there are pavillons and heating only to find no pavillons with limited heaters, which are randomly distributed between tables. the food served in take boxes and wood cutlery, so this was unpleasant to eat. Eat and drinks took long to be served and we waited for the bill. we will not go back."

"Well what can I say went to The Kings Arms Haughley which is under new management for the first time for,Sunday lunch the food was excellent not joking. We started with the classic prawn cocktail let's just say they don't scrimp on the prawns it was wonderful followed by roast lamb which was cooked to perfection with all the trimmings,ending with cherry and rhubarb franzipan the Landlord and Landlady Paul and Debbie deserve all the success that is sure to come their way . Thank you"

"Our party of 9 had a family meal yesterday Sunday and, having called in to have a Noodle bar meal a few days before, checked to find out how they could cope with two persons who would need advice as one Vegan and the other with Lactose intolerance, nothing containing tomatoes and no fresh fruit. Separate meals of ample a proportions and great selection provided especially for them and we had the usual Buffet choice which was great. Very caring and personal attention. Service not found too often but appreciated by us. Also compare prices with others, this is very reasonable. Speak as you find !!"

"we haven't been with shepherd and dog for a while. we had visited friends and decided to try again. we were a table of four, we ordered our food and waited, and waited and waited. there were two empty tables close by, which were occupied after a few minutes. after some considerable time, both tables were served by us. we complained to the waitress and she went to the kitchen and came back and told us that the reason why the other tables were served first was one of the tables their appetizers had been served and the other table had cold food. I can fully understand the starter scenario, but I am not sure that lasagne and chips are classified as cold eating, although it was a “side salat. After minutes, two of our plates arrived, but we had to wait five minutes for the other two. unnecessary to say we will not be back in a hurry"
