beautiful place in the small town (filled with good restaurants) this is newly renovated. small lunch card but very good, eating service and excellent eating.

the owner of “Engel”, herbert decker, is a careful and excellent old school host. a true heart, each centimeter as exquisite as this local device. they will not be disappointed. black forest gas love best!

This restaurant is a great favourite in one of the most beautiful villages in the Black Forest. Excellent foie gras, great fish and meat fishes, wonderful cakes and extremely good service. Immaculate in every way.

we found the restaurant more or less random and had the best luncl on our trip. we visited the place in the early afternoon and had the cooking menu: foie gras, thunfisch sashimi, big desert among others. the service was friendly and the price. very sufficient.

Yes the Engel has atmosphere but it just didn 't do anything for me. I think people pride it on being the best restaurant in a small village on reputation only, but I just didn 't understand the hype. The food was ok, the wine was good.......But it seems to be expensive for the sake of being expensive. Do yourself a favor and grab a salad from Ottos up the road.

This is a great restaurant with a good atmosphere and interior. The food is mostly touched by local and seasonal influences but presented in a modern eye catching style. All food is fresh and very tasty. Local wines are offered to match the food. Prices...for wines a excellent. At certain times they have food specials like asparagus weeks with tasting events. We will go there again.

Three of us had a beautiful meal here. We started with a lovely fresh salad, pumpkin and apple soup and beef consommé. All very good. Following this we had pork medallions, slow cooked beef and fresh local fish. Again all beautifully cooked and very tasty....There is attention to detail here from the linen tablecloths and napkins to the excellent service from the staff. Well worth a visit.

my wife and I had a really good dinng experience eating was traditional in many respects (German eating is sometimes hard,) but this time it was with a very precise preparation and a certain lightness. with the very local alder God...white wine that accompanied the meal, it felt right, and after three curses we left the restaurant very satisfied. At the same time, it should be mentioned that the women who serve us were efficient and very friendly. we felt very welcome and enjoyed being there.

We had one of our best meals here and we were staying in the village for 2 weeks. Service/food -everything really was just lovely. my hubby had the Lamb and I had the rump steak- both delucious . We can recommend the Black Forest cup...and Angel cup for dessert- very yummy. They had the menu in English very helpful even though my husband speaks a bit of German)and the lovely waitress spoke English as well. We loved everything about this place and would highly recommend it. It is not cheap although they do some 3 course special menus that are reasonable) but worth every penny and this was our little treat of the holiday.
