Forbidden City - Carta

Wish I could give zero star for customer service! No welcome since we stepped in the door till ordered the food. So we left without having dinner there. Hope this help everyone. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

We dined at the restaurant on a Saturday night. Instead of the main menu, we opted for the all-you-can-eat option for £26 per person. The portion sizes were small and the service was quite slow, especially when requesting more food. The menu options were also limited.

A group of 9 women from a nearby book club had a great dining experience at this restaurant. They enjoyed delicious food, excellent service, and friendly staff who were very accommodating. The overall meal was top-notch, and the service provided by the staff was exceptional. Ver carta

My friends and I visited the restaurant during the middle of the week, and even though it was busy, we had made a reservation. The food was absolutely delicious; the deep fried mushrooms and asparagus were gorgeous, and the main courses were just perfect! I am already looking forward to returning.

This restaurant is extremely pricey outside of their all-you-can-eat nights. They intentionally do not display prices on the menu, leaving you in the dark about how much your meal will cost. Additionally, the portions are very small. We ultimately paid a steep amount for what we received, especially considering the quality and quantity of food offered at other local restaurants and those of similar standards in London.

Terrible service. The waitress was unfriendly and didn't even make eye contact or smile. The food was overpriced and looked like leftovers from other customers. The two serving staff were dressed in scruffy t-shirts. They rushed us to leave by saying the kitchen was closing at 21.30, and then asking us to leave at 22.00. Have been coming here for 15 years now, food is always great. But what really made it tonight was the lovely young man who served us, all of the female servers were quite abrupt and not very welcoming (they kept lingering right by the side of the table whilst we were eating). But he was really friendly and amazing as a whole. The card machine was broken so we had to get cash out and had to use most of the cash we had so wasn’t able to give him the tip he deserved!

For the first time in two years we decided to try Forbidden City again. Last time we visited was for my fiancé’s 30th birthday which was was ruined by the manager and his rude and unprofessional attitude. We had not been able to find another Chinese restaurant with food as good as the one served here so we decided to go back and give it one last try! We found out that previous manager no longer works there which was great news! The service we received was AMAZING (it was so good that my fiancé left a tip which he doesn’t do very often!! !! The lady that served us was very attentive as was the owner! No one ever told us that we were ordering too much or that we had to eat everything which is...

ABSOLUTE DISGUSTING FOOD, SERVICE and its got a 0* food hygiene rating yes ZERO! To start when we phoned to book table was put on hold for 5 mins then we asked to book a table n was rudely Told yes just come in n hung up n when we arrived we were Rudely ask if we had a booking?? we looked online at the restaurant’s website said it said £19.80 all u can eat when arrived the menu said £25.90 we questioned it and was told that’s price u want to eat? And the food was all Mostly disgusting some was inedible, the service was slow, rude and not friendly at all! and to top it off we checked their food hygiene rating n it was a ZERO, yes a ZERO we politely said at end of meal that the food was disgus...
