"The location is what it’s all about here, set right on the water with floor to ceiling windows, this casual cafe serves everything from breakfast, coffees, right through to dinner. We first popped in for coffee after a busy day touring about, late afternoon on a Friday and the place was probably half full. We were back for brunch/lunch on Sunday and it was full, with tables turning over pretty well. Having said that, we loitered with our meal a bottle of wine and there was no sense of being rushed out the door. Very relaxed. Food is good without being great, but it’s a cafe, not fine dining. Plenty of staff, all young and generally pretty good. Give it a try, it won’t disappoint."

"We had a meal last Friday at the steak house in town, and didn’t have a good experience. I left a detailed review on their Facebook page to warn others about it and it appears it’s gone! Can’t see how that’s fair as it was...a fair warning to anyone going. Makes me wonder how many bad reviews have been removed. Would give a lot fairer outlook and how overpriced and unprofessional they are! This wouldn’t be as bad if it hadn’t cost so much, as I’d happily pay for a brilliant meal, but the fact this is a steak house with high prices, you expect a certain standard. In brief, Aimees steak was well over cooked, so told the waiter, who comes back and claims the steak continues to cook after it’s been rested!!! Hillarious that the chef thought that was true, being a steak house they need to be nailing every steak perfect especially at their prices! So anyway, told the waiter that wasn’t the case and I’m well experienced in cooking steak, but he claimed that was still the fact. And instead of discounting our meal for aimees half eaten steak, they offered a free drink! Also the seafood we had with it was over cooked and dry, muscled were terrible, as was the langoustines, and tasteless. Didn’t get any recompense for that. My meal was fine, I had a ribeye and was cooked bang on, maybe ribeyes don’t cook themselves after they’ve been rested And as for charging each for their sides, on top of their expensive meal, bit of a **** take! And one of Aimees gins was advertised contained ginger fever tree and was to cost but they added the mixer on top of the And then on our way out, after I grudgingly paid for the meal (which wouldn’t be that bad if it was a nice dining experience), a member of the kitchen staff looked Aimee up and down in disgust, obviously annoyed at HER for HIM doing a poor job of cooking the food. We will never be back and if they’re deleting reviews, they could be a lot worse as just this experience. Edit: I’d like to point out I put this review on the page to warn others and also allow the business to take some criticism, the customer is always right and all that. Removing the review has just annoyed me, that’s why I’ve made this post."

"We were pleasantly surprised by Gurkha Kitchen, where we were able to enjoy delicious Nepali and Indian cuisine in Shetland. The Kulfi dessert was the perfect finishing touch! Maya, the restaurant's hostess, was a delight to meet and provided us with wonderful Nepali hospitality. We look forward to visiting again. Vegetarian options: Gurkha Kitchen offers a wide variety of choices for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians on their extensive menu. Service: The dining experience was excellent."

"We enjoy eating Thai food, so we decided to give this restaurant a try since it had good reviews. However, the ambiance was disappointing with bright lighting and melamine tables adorned with Thai-style runners. I ordered a glass of house white wine, but it had a strange aftertaste and wasn't very enjoyable. My husband ordered a half of Tiger beer, but they brought a pint instead, which had to be returned. For our main courses, I ordered a Massaman curry with salmon and my husband ordered a prawn red curry. Unfortunately, both sauces tasted very similar and weren't very appetizing. My curry was overly sweet and contained large slices of potato, which is not a common Thai vegetable, along with a few tomatoes. Overall, we were not satisfied with our experience and will not be returning to this restaurant."

"Amazing lunch! The seafood chowder was so incredibly lip-smackingly delicious! We split it as a starter for and it was perfect Also totally recommend the seafood linguine, the loaded nachos (home made pita chips for the win, and the chickpeas were such an Uber great twist Everything was super delicious and very good prices too. Don’t leave Lerwick and the Shetlands without trying this superb restaurant"
