"I recently attended a personal Christmas event at this restaurant and had an excellent dinner. It was probably the best meal I've had in Shetland. The service was great and the meal was served as a dine-in dinner. The price per person ranged from £60 to £70. I would highly recommend trying the scallops with pancetta in garlic butter sauce, the signature fish and chips, and the braised beef."

"We arrived for our meal at around 6:30, the place looked lovely with the view of Bressay Island in the distance. Food and drinks were perfect, highly recommend the lamb for any new visitors. We were slightly disheartened after our meal as we heard the chef shouting, swearing at the front of house staff who were doing ab excellent job. This changed the atmosphere slightly, same for a few other tables too that had noticed this going on in the background so we thought it was best to drink up and call it a night."

"We had a coeliac in our group and it's usually fairly difficult to convey that to a restaurant and explain that this meal needs to prepared separately. Well you guys were fantastic, a conversation with the chef and he understood perfectly, the meal was tasty and every last bit was eaten and absolutely no ill effects. It's not very often that you can go home and say, I really enjoyed that and felt like I had a treat, all too often you say, yeah it was good, but I could have done that at home, well not this time, we all thought the food and service was excellent. Thank you."

"I hate to give a bad review and don't do it lightly but unfortunately I wasn't actually able to eat anything besides the poppadoms and some naan bread here due to lack of understanding about allergies. I came in with my family after a trip...out on a seabird trip and was looking forward to something nice to eat. The menu had a key at the bottom with the usual (v)=veggie (n)=nuts etc, but the Tikka Masala which is described as having cashew nuts, didn't have that (n) next to it, which called into question the whole menu for me since I can't take any risks (if something had cashew nuts and didn't happen to mention it in the description and also missed the (n), I'd probably be in hospital). We asked our waitress with some assistance but she seemed to have a lot of trouble understanding us/anything to do with allergies and left us none the wiser. I'm sure the food would have been lovely but unfortunatley with no one to ask and no faith in the menu, I wasn't able to order anything properly. To the restaurant, I'd really recommend brushing up on your policy and training around allergies/general communication with customers. The food looked lovely so it was quite a shame I couldn't have any!"

"Peerie Shop Cafe was our first stop after getting off the ferry from Aberdeen. We were a little wary, as we were lugging heavy backpacks with us, but found ourselves welcomed by the staff. We decamped to the upstairs with our bags and enjoyed our first coffee on Shetland. The staff were warm and chatty, and were more than happy for us to settle at a table upstairs while we were waiting to check in at our B&B later on in the day (joking after an hour or so that we didn't need a table number, as we were now regulars . We popped in as many times as we could over the next few days. The Cullen Skink was cracking, the Sassermeat Softies were filling, and the coffee and tea soothing (especially given the chilly weather outside! We absolutely didn't mind our drinks and food being served in recyclable containers, after all, every little helps where the environment is concerned. Well worth a visit. Lovely food, lovely ambience, lovely people."
