"Lovely restaurant serving classic French cuisine in cosy countryside village decor. Ample choice on the menu, with many daily specials. The dishes were very well executed and service traditionally formal. Large portion sizes for all dishes ordered, making three courses perhaps a little much in terms of quantity. "This is a high quality restaurant with attentive staff. It is suitable for a special celebration of quiet dinner. There is a fixed price menu for around £60 with plenty, or even too much, choice. Canapes came first followed by amazing bread rolls with 2 types of butter delicious. The lobster starter, with supplement, was sublime but I found the scallops rather ordinary and lacking taste. Fillet steak was tender and served with interesting vegetables although I felt the need to include mouthwatering braised steak on the plate a bit of overkill detracting from the main course. The strawberry dessert was served in a large quantity with the crumble base being a little too thick for comfort. However the fresh strawberries drowning in sauce that surrounded that base were unusual and very tasty. None of our party of 4 managed to finish the desserts. The bill came to around £90 each (including service) and this could be reduced by avoiding cocktails and choosing a cheaper wine. The only criticism here is that this restaurant tries too hard and less may be more. You will certainly have a great meal here."

"Went here last night for food. We assumed we wouldn’t have to book as it was midweek but they had a big party in! Even though they’d been super busy before we arrived, the staff were accommodating, helpful and chatted which was lovely! I’m gluten free and they had loads on the menu which was also fab. The food was great. Thanks for a great meal!"

"The restaurant has a charming setting with a traditional pub dining room featuring beams and wooden floors. The menu offered a variety of options and the food we ordered was excellent. Despite being very busy, the service was friendly and attentive, making our Sunday lunch experience thoroughly enjoyable."

"I wish I could give a million stars. our high-time day was not perfect. an absolutely beautiful team of men and sue is overwhelming. I find it really hard to put in words how grateful I am and how perfect our day was. eating was absolutely excellent. great that our guests had a choice and every single cure was raised. I have also tasted the eating of my manne so that I can confidently say that eating was consistently excellent. our master of the ceremonies was wonderful and assured that the day was running smoothly. the dj, arranged by the venue, was incredible! damian has put me every one and was such a nice guy. all agreed he was brilliant. sue was so quiet and organized that I felt calmer. she's a great lady. each aspekt des tags was perfect to the last detail. I honestly can't mistake it, can't think of a single thing that could have been done better. so many people told us and our parents that it was the best time they ever were. so much love for all involved, especially sue for all their hard work. I am so stunned by everything and cannot recommend this place enough for a high time. thank you to them all, with love by mr mrs. de-la-Hay xxx"
