"I had dinner with my family there. The local has a front entrance and a back entrance (I assume that's only open in summer because it was sort of a backyard), and it had medieval/old decorations. They welcomed us in English (not perfect) and they...had Italian menus for my family and me; the waitress that served us however knew English very well. The of us had the pork knuckle to share, the mushroom soup, a gnocchi soup and a chicken salad, and we tasted kind of beers. Gotta admit we were satisfied and we didn't find any flaws in the food. Prices are quite good, on the average, but the food and the beers are worth the expense."

We found it great here. The haxen and the steak were great. Half the chicken was good. The service was very friendly. Can't say bad coming back

happy that they sat with us in the kitchen, we ordered quickly. our waitress did not speak much English, so no change, although I really did not need the many potatoes. I found the menu hard to read, they wanted a medieval. . Ver carta

fun medieval themed restaurant. they have an English menu, but I think only one waitress speak English. it really didn't cause any problems, but I felt that they had somehow avoided us. the food was delicious and plentiful. price was not.

You can tell that the quality of produce here is cheap. The schnitzel was porky smelling. It shouldn’t smell like that, very fatty. Tiniest salad plates with huge leaves that would fall out of the bowl onto the table. Also cash only. Who carries cash...these days? It should be contactless card payments

The pork hock. The skin is very hard and hard for chewing. Even very hard to cut in piece. The meat is dry. The sauce is not very good. Not recommended to eat here. I order tap water and they charge me still water fee. I...told them the bill is wrong, then they change the bill to Tap water. So I still need to pay the tap water!!!!! Can’t believe!!!!! It’s Ill-gotten gains! Ver carta

This restaurant has a medieval theme, the food comes in large portions (come hungry! and taste delicious! The staff is dressed up accordingly and are very nice and accommodating. We got some welcome drinks on mead (alcohol made on honey which was nice. We also got some very nice live Bayern folk music of Christian Werner which put us in a good mood for the whole evening of great food and beer of course!

We had lunch here, it was good, the staff was nice, and the food was quick. The liver dumpling soup was incredible, and I never would even try liver, the garden salad was pretty good, but the sausages and pretzel wasn’t great. I guess it’s...customary for it to be served in a water bowl, but I think it loses a lot of the flavour. Great beer mugs though. We would eat here again just for the liver soup!! The location is also perfect, central, and eating outside is a great place to soak in the Bavarian buildings and people watch.

"We know Alatsee as a walking destination and decided this year to stay at the hotel by the lake as a centre for more walking and perhaps some nature. Booking was through Booking.com and straightforward. We decided on a minisuite for extra room and comfort...should the weather not cooperate. but it did so that was even nicer. The Suite consisted of a sitting room/lounge attached to a bedroom area and bathroom. All was very comfortable and agreeable. Sadly the room was at the back so there was neither much of a view and indeed no balcony for sitting out. I found that rather surprising and wonder if we had an inferior' room. But the place was pleasant enough, the welcome warm and the services all worked. It was nice to be able to take walks straight from the Hotel instead of driving anywhere and after the day visits had ended we had the lake area almost to ourselves. Breakfasts was the usual germanic buffet of cereals, cold meats and cheeses with juice and yoghurt. The service was excellent and indeed the staff actually prepared soft boiled eggs to order and timed to perfection which made a welcome change to the usual hard boiled offerings usually available. A real find for the british palette. What we found most odd was that despite being an excellent restaurant last orders for dinner was as early as 17.00. We are not habitual late diners but felt this was rather strange particularly as we were resident in the place. The place seemed to close up around 18.00 as staff left for home so I don't even know if the bar remained open later. As we had a mini apartment /suite we could of course have our own post prandial drinks in the evening but wonder how guests in smaller rooms fared."
