The food is always hot and enjoyable staff helpful and friendly always find it clean I go once a week with friends and we never go anywhere else to eat

Popped in here to grab something to eat while feeding my son. Ordered a beef roast dinner, the beef wasn’t the best but for £6.95 ya can’t complain. Staff was very friendly

Went here for some food, the price was reasonable, the service was fantastic and the food was truly amazing, the chips are the best by far, better than any I've tasted before definitely 10/10. Ver carta

attended this establishment 8th Jan 2016 just for drinks ordered a Jd n coke and a malibu n coke (doubles) to be told £18, upon querying the price the barmaid then added the second shot which she had not put in and changed the price to £8, so BEWARE thieving staff.

When trying to order, they couldn't tell us what was in the food. I wanted a hot beef sandwich and I have a serious egg allergy, and although rare, I know bread can sometimes contain egg. We were told that they order their bread in and so they didn't know if it contained any allergens. This is against the law and has been for over a year now. Anywhere selling food has to know if their food contains any of a list of common food allergies, egg being one of them.

I have been going in gatsby's for lunch for quite some time now and I have never had any problems with there food and I am a very fussy eater, if their is something you don't like on a certain meal all you have to do is say and they will leave it off. The staff are so friendly and are always on hand to help if you need anything. I must admit I have never been in on a Christmas time for something to eat so I can't comment on others experiences. All I can comment on is my own and to the staff and chef I say thanks and keep up the good work Ver carta

Well i visited gatsby's on the 23/04/2016. As i was walking upto the bar i could smell a stong smell of urine, when was at the bar i was then told that i will not be getting served as they have a strict no joggers policy (i understand the no joggers policy for on a night but this was 11.00am) the reason i was wearing joggers was that i had not long had an operation and felt more comfortable in joggers. I did not get a chance to explain to the bar staff. I then travelled over the road to port of call explained my situation they were happy to help.

Went here for lunch after Port of Call opposite was heaving with foottie supporters watching Sunderland play; owned by the same people, Gatsby had no large screen TVs and this seemed to be the one of the reasons that it was sadly 3/4 empty; nice decor, decent beers, and the fish and chips we had arrived quickly and were delicious. More of a bar meal menu than the fine fayre on offer at Port of Call, but still well worth a visit. My only criticism today is that the TVs were maybe a smidge loud but maybe that's just me turning cantankerous in my old age : (Worth a look :

Went to Gatsby yesterday totally expecting to be turned away with the ‘eat out to help out’ deal on. Someone came to see us at the door and told us we could have a table straight away, just had to leave our pushchairs near the front where there was space which isn’t a problem. Brought us over a highchair prompt for the baby. Ordered at the bar and waited about half an hour for food. Came to £16.60 for 2 kids meals 1 with ice cream and fruit shoot, 2 adult meals and 2 large cokes with the 50% off. The kids meals were beautiful. Home made chips, pizza was clearly home made and was delicious, chicken nuggets were proper chicken very nice. I had lasagne which came with garlic bread and chips but... Ver carta
