"We regularly pop into the Alkenrather Grill-Meister to collect our Friday evening dinner - German style cod and chips. We've been coming here, off and on, over quite a few years now. And usually the place is doing a roaring trade. It is a very popular place. We like the fact that the ladies behind the counter are highly efficient as they take our order and prepare everything freshly before your eyes. In fact is is quite entertaining to see how they deal with so many orders all at the same time. They have the logistics down to a tea. And of course, they are not just serving customers like our selves, ordering our takeaways, but also the stream of people coming to eat in (and outside on the pavement). The portions are huge - we usually struggle to finish everything. For orders over 30 Euro we also usually get to take a free large bottle of soft drink from the fridge. And there is also a free orange given out to the kids - something to do with vitamins and fresh fruit...We will certainly continue to come here - it's a convenient, friendly and good quality place for all your basic, no nonsense, grill restaurant type of food. Oh, and they constantly have weekly specials and seasonal food which is excellent. It's asparagus time at the moment! You should go!"
