I’ve been coming to this chippy for 28 years. Only chippy I liked in Hyde. Went recently and was disappointed with my food. I’ve heard it’s changed hands now. Don’t think I’ll be going here again

I have always enjoyed delicious meals at this restaurant, and have never experienced any problems or complaints. It is the only Chinese restaurant in the area that I would recommend. The salt and pepper chips are particularly delicious.

This was my favourite Chinese in Hyde , but the last 2 times it hasn't been so good , Ordered a takeaway tonight and was so disappointed all our 4 meals were not good , delivered just warm not hot so I'm afraid they have lost our custom .

The salt and pepper chicken pieces tasted like shrimp, the salt and pepper fries were tough, the BBQ ribs were dry and overcooked, as if they had been reheated or cooked for too long. The plain chow mein was decent, but it's not hard to mess up. The shrimp crackers were alright. Overall, we were disappointed with the poor quality of the food and won't be ordering from this restaurant again.

We haven't tried the Chinese food here more than once, but it was nice. We do go here for fish and chips, though, whenever we fancy them. It's one of many in the area but our go-to. Chips and fish are always freshly cooked, hot and tasty, the value is good, and the gravy and curry sauce is very nice. Staff are welcoming and it's a very consistent place and one we've used for many years. Keep at it, guys!

Please don't believe the comment about awful food from a couple of years ago the food is perfectly palatable when you can get it! We have been customers of Happy Family for years and they are a good friendly local business which serves good wholesome food OK it isn't cordon bleu or ethnic chinese, but it's good, well prepared,there is a varied menu and its priced at much the same level as it's competitors in the area. My only beef is that it shuts so early that the age old custom of stopping off for a chippy or a chinese after a night out is no longer available. The fried chicken businesses is the area still find it profitable to stay open but it appears that they have driven all the convent...

Happy Family has been our local takeaway for over 15 years. It hasn't changed very much and the interior has stayed how I remember it, save from a new floor. Moving on to the food, I ordered the same as I usually order sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice and spring rolls. Once again, I was not disappointed. The chicken is always succulent and cooked perfectly, and is mixed with vegetables such as carrots and green peppers. The egg fried rice is also amazing from here, and even suffices as a snack on its own. The rice served as it should be, yellow and with plenty of pieces of scrambled egg.
