"Just been here for lunch with my friend, who had purchased a Groupon for £39 supposedly representing a 50% discount. This was for '2 course meal with wine for 2 people '. What a joke!! We decided to skip the starter we were offered 2 choices of starter, which on the menu would have cost £4.80 , saying that we would prefer to have main course and a dessert. We were offered 4 choices of main course though the printed menu was extensive and very interesting . This was the Chefs special roast chicken, chicken casserole, hummus and falafel or vegetable curry. On the printed menu this would have cost £8.80. We were given a small glass of wine each. I must say, my vegetable curry was delicious! When we asked what options of dessert we could choose we were told that this was not an option, and that the deal only covered a starter plus a main course this was not stipulated anywhere on the Groupon description nor did the waiter choose to inform us of this when we were ordering, and discussing the idea of main and dessert with him. So for £39 we had eaten £8.80 worth of food each £19.60 plus 2 small glasses of house wine the menu doesn 't show a price for wine by the glass, but I really don 't think that would come to £10 per glass as a whole bottle of house wine is £15.49! We discussed dissatisfaction with both the waiter and the manager, but they were unable to she 'd any light on the matter, except to blame the problem on Groupon!! I REALLY CANNOT RECCOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT WE HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF!!! AVOID!!"

Went here for the first time on Friday night following a number of good reviews. What can I say? The food was great and the service was brilliant. A really great place to have a meal if you like Turkish food. We will no doubt be back.

I visited in December, it was quiet and, despite this, there was a good trade going on. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, the staff were attentive and I will definitely go again. I can recommend this restaurant and its staff to anyone.

Excellent starter, set up the taste buds for the mixed platter of chicken lamb which made for a really good tuck in. Made to feel welcome and yet the service is very efficient, makes for a good experience. As we are not local we can only visit occasionally, certainly look forward to another meal here next time we are in Huntingdon. Ver carta

Had dinner here on a Saturday evening. One vegetarian and one meat eater. Very satisfying and tasty food. Big portions. Loads of choice for vegetarians. Great value for money. There was a complaint from another table about the service, but we had no issues (they also complained that the salad was raw, so clearly having one of those nights when everything was wrong). Highly recommended.

Three of sus hared a starters platter and a couple of main courses. Everything was delicious if a little salty but then I don 't salt my food) and staff could not have been more friendly of helpful. A table nearby had a large family group sharing various platters, so obviously popular. Couple of minutes walk from Sandford House Hotel 'Spoons) and adjacent to excellent Falcon Tavern, an old coaching inn.

Outstanding food and excellent service. We ate here on the evening of Halloween and the staff couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. Everyone was lovely and friendly with our young daughter even giving her a Halloween treat bag to take home. We had the cold mixed mezze and chicken kebab to share with garlic bread and it was all delicious! On leaving we were shown to the door and given hand sanitizer. We would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back one day! Ver carta

The new Turkish owner seems bent on making this place a plastic golf putting range out back in the garden and forgotten that his income should come from Turkish inspired food. We were seated in the garden and occasionally a member of staff came to if we needed anything. The drinks are way overpriced, and the food is bland and tasteless. I managed to discover parts of the plastic wrapper the salad arrives in dished up on my plate. The older garden furniture needs maintenance but the newer stuff looks pretty good, but no cushions.

What a wonderful surprise after 20 years of saying, “We must try that place”. Generous portions doesn’t really define the quality, flavours and variety that arrived before us. My wife had the chicken shish that had all the depth of flavours you would hope for in Greece or Turkey with the smokiness of the charcoal grill infused with herbs and lemon! 5 star shish. The BBQ Ephesus Special is a riot of meats nothing short of cornucopia of flavours and textures all perfectly cooked. The mixed salad made the perfect accompaniment. This is a gem of a restaurant do it!

"We 're looking forward to trying the Pheasant again on a normal day. We went on Boxing Day and it was pretty disastrous. Meant to be a treat but it certainly wasn 't. Starters were nice, no cooking involved apart from the pesto. Then the mains. The beef was grey, not pink as I was told it would be but it was tender. The roast potatoes tasted a bit old but there were plenty. The Chantenay carrots were very soft. The Savoy cabbage was perfect but the portion was tiny. The gravy was nice but we got a different variety when we asked for more. The Yorkshire pudding was the main disaster; it seemed old, and very hard to the point of shattering. Desserts. The sticky toffee pudding was fine although the serving of sauce was very mean. The clotted cream with it is, in my opinion, the best way to serve this pudding, it 's a relief from all the sweetness. The apple crumble was terrible; it came in a bowl with the custard already in it with the pudding. The apple was sour and the crumble was squidgy stodge. The service was fine although some staff not yet fully professional. We would have expected a welcoming hello and goodbye but that didn 't happen. Our overall feeling was that there was serious penny pinching going on with the mains and desserts but this is a very bad idea when you are judged on your last meal but we do intend to try again because it 's such a wonderful building and we 've had many good experiences in The Pheasant, perhaps before the present owners, we 're not really sure."
