"we were here on a Monday night and it was absolutely fantastic. first, the landscape around the hotel is simply amazing. very picturesque with a beautiful wedding marathon, some vintage tractories and simply in the really beautiful environment. the room itself was from this world for the price. so much bigger than expected with huge solid handmade and obviously custom furniture. the best part was the huge copper tub in the center of the bathroom, which was great. the breakfast was phenomenal. absolute monster shares of good quality ingredients served in a beautiful winter garden. to distribute it from customer service, the staff was very friendly and friendly. would come back 100%. I was not encouraged to write a review, but it was necessary for exactly how good it was. Five stars."

"Had Sunday lunch today. Portions were very large, too large.... hate to waste food. We ordered drinks. 1 pint of cider, 1 bitter shandy and 1/2 lager shandy for my 89 year old mother in law. Unfortunately the young waiter thought she wanted a pint!!!! Really!! We did tell him but he didn't offer an exchange and we were charged full price. Food could have done with being warmer. Overall good value for money but little things let it down. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3"

"I recently took my mom, who eats everything, to South Causey Inn for afternoon tea. While it was nice that there was a vegan option available, the quality of it left much to be desired, especially considering the £20 price tag. The portion sizes were smaller than the non-vegan options, but I was aware of this when booking. The battered mushrooms with mayo were tasty, but the sandwiches (BBQ jackfruit, hummus and cucumber, hearty) were average at best, with the hummus being particularly unappealing. The pear and walnut salad was good, although the strawberries were supposed to be chocolate-dipped but weren't, and the lemon cake was missing altogether. The baked goods (fruit and banana cake) had a dusty texture and were disappointing. I would like to believe that the kitchen staff should not have let them leave the kitchen in that condition, but it's possible that they had a negative view of vegan food and thought it was acceptable. Unless they improve the quality of their vegan afternoon tea offerings, I would recommend that vegans steer clear, especially considering the high price. I suggest finding a place that puts more effort and care into their vegan food options."

"my wife and I just visited and enjoyed it. we chose both surfing, shaking and banging. the steak was boiled as we like it and the haw was moist and not as a couple put out. the young lady who served us was very friendly and efficient. it's been a past since we were here last, but it won't take long to prove that today's visit until we get back."

"had a nice dinner tonight with my daughter. the eating was delicious and fast served and the staff was excellent especially racheal that my daughter eating immediately got ordered as she was hungry and she loved the cocktail racheal made her also. would highly recommend. will definitely be back. many thanks for a very pleasant meal."
