"Il Capriccio in Frankfort Gate has been out favourite Italian restaurant in Plymouth ever since it opened many years ago and have eaten here dozens of times with family and friends. Run by a lovely family with a delightful informal but wholly authentic feel. We were sad to discover that they would not be reopening after this lockdown but we’re pleased to find that the unit had been transformed into a little Thai restaurant Roy Thai which will see us again over the Bank Holiday Weekend."

We recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for my daughter's birthday, who loves pasta. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience as the food was freshly prepared, including the pasta, and tasted delicious. We highly recommend a visit, or even three, and we will certainly be returning. This is a small, relaxed, family-run Italian restaurant. The pasta is made fresh for each meal. Every course that we had was remarkable! The starter was great, the main pasta course was perfect, the sauces were wonderful. The sweet was excellent. The service was quick, very friendly and helpful. This was one of the best meals we have ever had in Plymouth. And the location is perfect for a pre-show meal. Il Capriccio is *highly* recommended!

Wow! From start to finish, blown away with the care and authenticity of this restaurant. It was a quaint and cosy size, all laid up nicely. A small family ran the entire show, which made it really humbling and enjoyable to be a part of! We got to watch our food being made in the kitchen with the upmost care and freshness. Pizza dough being span, homemade pasta being rolled out and fresh antipasti being sliced off. The food tasted so delicious and fresh! We will be back next month!
