Friendly professional service. Beautiful view. Delicious Sunday roast. Extra gravy on request no extra charge good came quickly. Reasonably priced. Will definitely go again.

Fantastic spot, great food and excellent service. Came down from oxfordshire just for a spur of the moment lunch and would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to visit on a Sunday

We popped in to the inn on the beach for breakfast ,we were greeted by yaz who greeted us with a huge friendly smile. The coffee was perfect temperature the food was flavoursome and seasoned perfectly both food and drinks arrived to our table in good time. Highly recommend Ver carta

New to the area finding new places to walk my dog found this gem ,perfect place to escape the cold. We only had a coffee and a hot chocolate as we were tight on time. Staff were friendly and explained their Sunday menu as we were enquiring about the food. We are booked in to try the food Sunday.

Friendly staff. Fantastic view. Dog friendly. Boys and I had the lunch burger, burger a bit small but still good value at £8, served with fries if it came with a side of coleslaw would be perfect. Wife had the fish finger sandwich with fries at £8. Was expecting the box standard frozen fish fingers in 2 slices of bread, what was served was something else and has unfairly set a high bar for fish finger sandwiches to come!

Booked in advance a largish family for Sunday afternoon lunch. Upon arrival told that our supposed table had others sat at it so sit here! (At this smaller one so not a great start. You’d think the allocated table for an advance booking would be reserved. Anyway we stood for a short while before the kind couple sat at the larger table offered to relocate (Thank-you again So sat at the bigger table and it gets the cursory wipe, missing the dirty bits Ver carta

Oh dear. This used to be one of our favourite eating places good food and a beautiful location on the beach. It has slowly fallen apart since, I guess, Covid. Always short staffed for the past year or two and it now has the feeling of a building not having had any money spent on it. It’s years since it was redecorated; even the door into the ladies toilet needs a good lick of paint! On our last visit people were queuing at the bar to order (in an establishment that, until now had been waitress service) and most of the restaurant areas were closed off by chairs, tables etc. blocking the entrance. We did not stay time to move on to somewhere else…

We had a 2pm booking confirmed the same morning at 6.45am. But 9.15am they emailed and said they 'd appreciate us moving to 2.30pm as there would be a long waiting time due to a large function 1.30 2.30pm. I said we were walking there (and heavy rain was due so we could not postpone) so would arrive and have drinks first. We arrived 1.15pm and the 'long waiting ' time changed to 'no service ' we couldn 't pre order and even at 2.30pm they would not take our order. We asked again to order 2.40pm and they said 'maybe in 10 mins '! We waited again then they took our order (after 1.5 hours). They should have not accepted our booking or should have cancelled it Hayling Island has other nice pubs...

Thought call in for drink after nice long brisk walk. Just visiting area for few days and pub in lovely site on front facing sea..Was really busy which was nice to see but was like stepping into nursery school crossed with Battersea dogs home!! Kids not being controlled. Running round place screaming!! Dogs sat on furniture!! Not great if next person got allergies or new coat on!!. Im not anyone child or dogs as have both!! Just put few basic rules in place re kids and stop people allowing their dogs (wet) on furniture!! Barmaid rushed off her feet but kept smiling. Real asset. Can't say same about large grumpy bearded man!! Very rude!! We didn't stay long as cdnt stand noise from all kids.... Ver carta
