"Ohhhhh! Yes they are! So, basically I took the train from Birmingham to Edinburgh just to take a selfie outside Edinburgh castle (long story, wont bore you with it). Anyway, with said selfie in the can and with just under two hours left till the...train home I happened upon this rather non-descript looking bar in Market St. The place appeared to be full of backpackers (which made perfect sense as I later discovered there was a hostel next door) and was a bit dark and dingy looking. However, taking selfies is hungry work and they had burgers so why not. Anyway, the girl behind the bar was lovely and helpful so after asking for a recommendation I ordered the ‘Highland Cow’ (6oz burger with Haggis and Monterey Jack cheese) and a pint of ale infused lager. First of all I should say that I was very very hungry but this burger really hit the mark. The chips only looked like regular French fries but they were really well seasoned with salt and crushed black pepper and together with the whiskey cream sauce were absolutely awesome! The burger was also well cooked and together with the Haggis tasted greeeeeaaat! The ale/lager was really very nice too and was a good recommendation so all in all enjoyable meal. In summary I was pleasantly rewarded with some excellent service, satisfying burger and a delicious pint so two thumbs up to all the staff at Jake’s Place"

the eating had a considerable personality and charm, but the dinge did not quite look at taste. the abundant substance has fed us most admirably, although

was recently there for a event and had a great time. Although eating was nothing special, it was not bad. cooler place to have a drink and some cots when they are in the opposite (or too early for a train)

Visited Saturday afternoon, couple pints with my lady. Bit peckish, thought a few nibbles first then a big burger. Order Nachos with pulled pork. Not very hot (heatwise,) squeezy cheese, squeezy guacamole, cold meat. Didn't bother ordering a main course. Simple dish, easy to get...wrong

the beer, the ribs, the service, the location. everything amazing. the menu has so much deep it will take it an hour to choose what they want. the barmann helps them to choose what they want with free rehearsals. if they play their cards correctly (as I did) then they come up to decide how they need to decide a few!

for the first time, the decoration jakes visited a bit rough out with wavy plates on the walls, but the staff was friendly and helpful. a few drinks on a table were better than we could manage at other locations near the waverley. train station, since the fringe festival was in full and was packed everywhere. that was the afternoon, so I would imagine that this place will light up at night and make a great local bar.

Good stop near the train station and shows sport if that's your thing linked to Belushis and the hostel too and share toilets and kitchen although not menu. 390 a T so not the cheapest but just ok. The haggis is superb but please...avoid the deep fried mars bars at a fiver if they still do them it's nae Scottish at all!! We were treated very well by the Manager after having to vacate our reserved table and were seated at the bar in full view of the TV's. Inflatable sheep are available in the toilet

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
