Jewel Piccadilly - Carta

I attended my office Christmas party here in 2004. The prices for drinks were incredibly high, service was extremely slow, and the space was cramped. I have not gone back since then!

Visited on the 1st March for a cocktail making class and three course meal. We were totally forgotten, waited over an hour for food which arrived cold, the waitor didn't know how the steaks were cooked so couldn't give to the correct person. The manager lied more than once and would not provide the previously offered compensation. Aviod at all costs, disgusting, unprofessional service!!

Great venue,great DJ shame about the bar staff particularly the guy in the white shirt Who appeared to be the manager but acted like somebody had done him some diservice.He was very rude and arrogant and thought it was amusing when I complained that everybody else had the large porn star martini filled to the top when ours was half full it was my 50th birthday such a disappointment. I visited Jewel on a Saturday afternoon. It is in the middle of Piccadilly Circus but a lovely little surprise. Cocktails were lovely, a good wide menu to select from, excellent friendly service and we happened to be there at Happy Hour too!! We tried to reserve a table online for 1pm but for confirmation of the reservation after we left at 2:30pm!!!! However, there were plenty of tables so it wasn't a problem. I would recommend and will be visiting again!

Left my glasses at the venue after a work Xmas do. Called, emailed and returned the next day to recover them. Staff had lost my glasses- failing to put them in lost property. Returned three or so times to try and recover them. Staff were entirely unhelpful and the manager was very dismissive. Never got them back. Other notes: staff put out champagne and glasses on an unsteady table at the Xmas Party. Whole table tipped over spilling alcohol. Overall pretty poor experience.

I had some reservations about choosing this venue for my work Christmas party, as I had a negative experience at Jewel Bar in the past - it was dirty, overpriced, and the staff were unhelpful. Unfortunately, my concerns were justified. The venue was not suitable for a Christmas party - it was cramped and expensive. The staff were once again rude and unfriendly. To make matters worse, when I went to collect my coat at the end of the night, I was told that it had been given to someone else. Despite returning the next day as requested, the staff were unhelpful and dismissive, unable to locate my coat and acting sarcastically. I booked this bar as the last stop on a stag do in London. They advertise on their website that they cater for these kind of groups, I went to the bar beforehand and spoke to a very helpful lady. The bar looked cool and she promised a certain area and a round of drinks for us when we got there. I put down a 160 deposit to secure with an arrival time of 945pm..... We got there, spent ages to find our booking, then they did and said they had to clean it and wait for 5mins, 30mins later I went over to the area and there were just punters there.... Security ruined what should 've been a great night a friend 's party was being held at the Sahara venue above the main bar, and we were warned of the usual requirements before arrival: don 't get too drunk beforehand, don 't wear tracksuits, bring ID to prove that you 're 18+, don 't bring drinks inside. None of this mattered when faced with the security on the door, whom other reviews have mentioned. They (seemingly at random) picked out men and only men who they deemed too drunk to enter, instructing them to walk around the block and get a McDonalds, then come back in 20 minutes. When asked on what grounds people were being barred from entry, one of the doormen said: because I say so this...

I took my team to Jewel for cocktails after some initial food and drinks in Waxy O 'connors which is a just around the corner. We arrived at around 7pm and had the standard security checks before we entered. There were 14 of us in total so I was pleasantly surprised (as I was picking up the tab) when we found out that it was 241 on cocktails until 8pm so we managed to squeeze in a couple of rounds before the promotion ended. The bar team were polite enough and patient as they dealt with one big round after another.
