"RUDE . We booked a table for Saturday for 4.30 we arrived about 4.10 so ordered a drink , when my partner booked for 4.30 nobody said to him they don’t serve food till 5 so we thought we’d have a drink but we had 50 minutes to food so my partner asked would it be possible to order some olives and bread as I’d been at work and not eaten all day and didn’t want wine on nothing ! We didn’t think this was a bad think and the waitress said yes no problem so we thought great , however she returned with a message from the chef “ I don’t have time “ !! Now pick we were the only ones in the dining area and we were 50 mins till dining but he WOULDNT cut a piece of bread ! . Our message to the chef last time we ate we were with friends and we all said how boring bland and low class the food was but we thought we’d giv3 it another go ...... IN THE ECONOMY WE ARE IN CUT THE BREAD YOUR CUSTOMERS KEEP YOU IN WORK MAN"

Eating was really nice, the burger was amazing and the staff was nice, but not the most family-friendly. we sat on a high table and chairs and gave a really short high chair for baby I think in the rule it would be better suitable tables, but was busy in the night we went.

Table booked for five. Good varied menu. Excellent friendly service. The food was very good generous portions. Two of us had the lasagne agreed it was one of the best we have ever eaten. Two friends had the Thai curry said the same. One friend had the pie said it was lovely but couldn’t manage to eat all of it, the portion was too large for her. We all agreed that we will be going back definitely recommend it.

the first time I had this franklins drink that was really nice and refreshing. beautiful opposite, but environment looked like it was a bit clean and tidy up, possibly as its bank holiday Monday, but after listening reviews I thought it would be a bit more up. the personal did not come to ask us what we wanted to order food wisely, although we were sitting in the dining area and getting our own menus. has potential to be really nice, but I'm not going back.

Table serve was terrible. Some staff were friendly but no one checked if we were all right. We waited 40 minutes to be served. Salmon dish was disgusting, burnt in some places and under cook and slimy in other places. Drizzled lemon juice on the new potatoes and dripping with grease. The beef lasagna was greasy and cheese burnt and sickly and swimming in the grease. Like a pizza with the wrong cheese in it. Bacon burger was okay and the chicken curry was runny but okay taste. Charged for 4 pints when only got 2 £82 overall just for mains and drinks and definitely not worth the price or the time going there.

"Visited today with my wife and month old daughter whilst we are on holiday in the area. We didn’t have a booking but this wasn’t a problem, the staff were friendly throughout and accommodating about lack of booking. We asked for a children’s menu...(website says they have one) but we were advised it’s was the basket meals menu which they advertise as selling to guests sat outside, they did also mention they could make a smaller portion of something from the adult menu. The basket meals menu is mainly fried food and chips, the kind you might share with friends over drinks, I wouldn’t call it a children’s menu. To me a children’s meal should at least come with some option of veg/salad/beans and ideally not be fried, plus the chips that arrived with her chicken bites were salted, not great for little ones. We didn’t make a fuss as for one meal as a treat we weren’t unduly worried but it would put me off going back with children. They also charged the full basket meal price so no reduction for children. Our meals, fried garlic mushrooms, salt and pepper chicken goujons to start then a beef burger and chicken burger as mains, arrived promptly and were generous portions. The food was fine, nothing spectacular just average pub food. The main issue on our visit and the thing that made the whole meal much more stressful and unenjoyable was the flies, we were sat in what they called the restaurant area and our whole meal start to finish was disrupted by or flies continuously buzzing round us, trying to land on our food and land on us, not fun. I accept that or flies can be around when doors or windows are open and it’s hard to stop them coming when food is around but or round us and more to be seen in the room seems too many to me, it really put us off especially when they were landing on our daughter. At the point of eating the meal we didn’t raise the issue as we couldn’t see that anything could be done about it and I’m sure the staff are not a fan of the flies either. I did raise the issue whilst paying and was told they knew about the problem and were doing their best to solve it, sadly for us it would stop me wanting to go again. All in all not a great experience and the food whilst nice enough wasn’t good enough to overcome the issue of the flies and the lack of a proper children’s menu."
