"I am writing this on behalf of my 77 year old Mum and her friend. They booked for lunch last Friday (11th Sept). They were greeted very enthusiastically by Nikki and handed a paper menu. Nikki explained the process of where they would be seated and that there was a one way system in place to exit. After Mum and her friend chose from the menu, the menu was screwed up and thrown in the bin a very reassuring process to know that this restaurant has implemented single use menus. They were shown to their table with Nikki maintaining a distance and the table was in Mum 's words Spotless You could see your face in it! . The food they ordered came piping hot and was delicious. They were not rushed to vacate the table and had a fantastic afternoon. Both Mum and her friend felt exceptionally safe, very welcomed and loved the food they were worried in these times of going to eat out in public, but thanks to the Tavern and Nikki their experience was very positive. Thank you for all the hard work that must have gone in to a well thought out Covid Safe Plan, and for being a local point for people to meet and be safe. Well done."

My wife and I had a lovely lunch at the Tavern 31 August. Warm welcome from Nicky and great service from him and his staff.

Went for a late pub lunch. We had a rump steak baguette and a chicken tikka burger. Excellent food, really tasty, nice and hot and served very quickly. Highly recommended

We visited the Keyworth Tavern earlier this week our first meal there! We were very impressed with the measures they have put in place, warm welcome and helpful staff! Very good quality food and very reasonable prices! We all ordered different starters and mains and enjoyed them all. A really lovely evening in these strange times! Thanks Nick and staff

Visited this place a few times since they reopened after lockdown as it's close to home. Nicky and his crew are really friendly and welcoming even though they have to implement all the new covid 19 guidelines as they crop up. Really impressed with the food, especially the sharing platter which we had as a starter but would be just as good as a shared main as there is so much on it. Overall a friendly and covid safe place to go for food or a couple of drinks Ver carta

We visited on Christmas day 2019 for a pre booked family Christmas lunch for 6 people and it was absolutely perfect Big Thank you to all the staff! The food was spot on for all three courses, plus coffee and mince pies at the end. Really yummy, fresh, cooked to perfection and ideal portion sizes. The service was great and welcoming. and the attention to detail impressive would 100% recommend to anyone, and we will be re booking for next year. Very well done everyone at the Tavern! :

I went to Keyworth Tavern for drinks tonight but ended up ordering food because we couldn't resist after seeing the delicious meals the group next to us was enjoying. My partner and I both had the mixed grill, which was excellent. The meat cuts were top-notch and cooked perfectly (rare, not overcooked). I want to commend Chef Zack for his cooking skills and choice of meat cuts. The staff are all very friendly and the standards are always high. Thank you, we will definitely be returning!

Our experience at The Tavern was perfect for my family. The ambience was lovely, the service was very friendly, and Robin was very attentive to all our needs. The food was delicious and served hot. The restaurant was clean and tidy, and the prices were reasonable. There was plenty of parking available. At the end of our meal, Mark and Robin explained all the options available for our next family event. We were very pleased with our experience. Kudos to Mark, Robin, and the rest of the crew! I lived near this pub almost 40 years ago, so it was my regular spot. It used to have a Lounge and Public Bar, but now it's one spacious lounge with lots of windows and light. The bar staff are friendly and the pub is well-maintained. They are active in the local community, hosting groups like knitters and ukulele players. They have a great selection of ales, ciders, wines, and spirits, and the staff know how to serve brandy properly. The menu caters to all tastes, including vegetarian and vegan options, which is important in today's world. It's a family-friendly pub that deserves support.

Been in for a quiet drink this evening and I was appalled by the red headed boy serving behind the bar. He was repeatedly swearing under his breath thinking he couldn’t be heard, but he was wrong. I am surprised others couldn’t hear him being very rude about just about every customer, including loyal regulars, I don’t know what he said about me when I walked away. He clearly thinks he’s being clever. There was a lovely young lady from Ukraine I think who was working really hard and trying her best. She was asking him for help constantly, but he just ignored her throughout which was embarrassing to witness. He was clearly frustrated by his colleagues, but it’s just not professional to show it...

"I'll start with the positives. The interaction I had on Facebook to book a table, and then change the booking, was very positive. The two young waitresses who served us were great. The pub is shabby with rubbish and cigarette butts scattered outside the door...and a smell of smoke in the doorway. The décor is tired and tatty, and the bench seat in the restaurant area has a big split in it. The floor of the restaurant had bits of food and other rubbish on it. The salt and pepper and vinegar bottle didn't look like they'd been cleaned for a few days. The food was uninspiring, and mostly overcooked. The Yorkshire puddings were burnt black and were mostly inedible (when we commented on this, the waitress said she was too scared of the chef to say anything to him). The roast potatoes were hard and tough. The vegetables (not enough for 6 of us from one dish) were not great and the cauliflower cheese was the most uninspiring I've had for a long time. The lamb was OK, but that's all I can say about it. The whole menu (apart from a goat's cheese salad) was dull and unimaginative, even allowing for the fact that for Sunday lunch on Mother's Day most people want roasts. We didn't bother staying to have desserts. I thought from the TripAdvisor reviews that we were going to a gastropub, or a pub with a super restaurant. It was like having a meal in a pub 30 years ago, which is fine if that's what you want. It was a dreadful experience and not at all the way we wanted to celebrate my son's birthday and Mother's Day. We will not go back again."
