"The Kingfisher is a family friend pub offering good value for meals. We visit on a weekly basis as form Monday to Friday daytime you can select classic pub grub of a 2 meals for £10 ideally suiting senior clientele. Portion size is ideal for the pensioner appetite. Fish and chips, scampi, curry and pies are available. For a little more there is a good selection of salads, burgers and delicious grills available. The bar staff are friendly and obliging (our favourites is Pam) who welcome you and remember your drinks which are served with a smile. It’s not fine dining but for a midweek treat it’s ideal without breaking the bank! It can be a little noisy during school holidays as it has a lovely children’s area and an ideal children’s menu. For sunny days there is a lovely sitting area outside with the canal running by. A great cup of coffee and desserts to die for along with a good wine cellar and mocktails and cocktails available. Special themed events take place seasonally. Sunday’s offer a could choice or roasts with a 2 for £12 tempter."

Used to be a 2 for 1 pub/restaurant but now steak and pizza. Not nearly as much choice as before. Food ok but nothing exceptional.

Visit again after out first great visit. Again, the deals (cheap kids meals) drew us in. All i can say is keep it up, place is only getting better!

Visited recently with family for a birthday outstanding service really nice atmosphere food was really good absolute amazing value will definetly return highly recommended well worth the drive out

Me and the husband came for steak night yesterday it was beautiful as always... went with the t bone for a change! and as usual it was cooked perfectly.. i will be back on friday same time same place love it

Called in for a drink, but food looked so good that we decided to stay for dinner. Glad we did! Sharing platters, garlic mushrooms, koftas, buttermilk chicken goujons and onion rings were all delicious and really good value. Set in a great location at the side of the Huddersfield narrow canal.
