"The Datcha self-service restaurant is along the Glacier and Plan Milet pistes, near the bottom of the Glacier chairlift. We found it more expensive than some other self-service restaurants in the area, approximately €9 for vegetable soup with bread croutons, €15 for pasta Bolognese, €17 for the burger. The good thing was that you could choose roasted vegetables instead of fries with the burger. The food was more or less of the average quality that you could expect in a self-service restaurant, not bad but no culinary highlight either. They had quite a large outdoor seating area with chairs around most of the tables, which was nice, (but some tables only had hard wooden benches)."

The location is good, food wasn´t bad - we tried lasagne, spaghetti bolognaise and burger with chips. It´s not high gastronomy food you find there so expect average/a little bit above average food. You don´t mind if you´re hungry. Toilets were OK - can´t complain about that.

eating on the slopes is not really cheap. but the interior of this chalet is really very warm and typically savoyard. the kitchen is correct but the addition a little heavy: 14€ the fried steak fries for example. But it's on the floor-to-street. Finally with the sun it was nice anyway.

We stopped here a couple of times when we required a bit of a pit stop with a view. One of my favourite places on the mountain is to sit on one of there deck chairs with a hot chocolate or beer and admire the view. I recommend the Churros from the bar! As with all these places they are not cheap but you can't put a price on that view!

When I think of Val D'Isere once I am home again it always here that I see myself . Wonderful terrace, in a super ski bowl and super self service, and perfectly normal and good loos, wonder if one of the other reviewers had erred into the Gents by mistake! The pastas are good, the salads superb, and the bar service always friendly and attentive. Farewell Datcha, a l'annee procaine!

I would have given Datcha the highest possible rating but for the squat toilets in the tired looking bathrooms, which were disappointing. Otherwise, the food here was outstanding. The burgers and chicken dishes were cooked fresh to order; I'd highly recommend the tasty cheeseburger with raclette cheese. The self-service section had everything else one would want--a bar, good looking desserts, and salads.

La Datcha was a great little place to stop off and enjoy a Vin Chaud or Chocolate Chaud! There are deck chairs with fluffy covers on outside so that you can relax and enjoy the beautiful view. There are also cosy inside seats for those snowy days where you want to take a bit of shelter! They did a brilliant Vin Chaud here, we returned a few times on our holiday as they were so yummy! The staff were all brilliant in here, very friendly and happy to chat.

The Datcha is situated in the Solaise ski area at the bottom parts of the Marais and Forche blue runs, it has a sunny vista but this place is really not trying. It's way overpriced by alpine and Val D'Isere standards. You expect to "pay" up in the mountains but even with that expectation you feel ripped off. Additionally, the toilets are, quite frankly, poor. Plenty of other mountain stops in L'Espace Killy offer good food and refreshment for better value. Ski by and spend your hard earned cash elsewhere.
