"I have been a regular at Spags for years, and before going vegan, I always ordered either the salmon fettuccini or the vegetable lasagne. Occasionally, I would try the beetroot ravioli, which was also marked as vegan and delicious. However, on my recent visit after making the switch to veganism, I was disappointed to find that the beetroot ravioli was no longer on the menu. The pasta dishes now seem quite basic, with options like arrabiata or ortolana, which is essentially just another tomato sauce with peppers and onions. I requested extra chili on my dish and they were very generous with it, creating a flavorful meal. However, I would have preferred something more unique and different from what I could make at home. Despite this, I will continue to dine at Spags as it always guarantees a satisfying meal. I hope that in the future they will consider adding some more exciting options to their pasta dishes."

We tried the Milano Pizza and Focaccia, both vegan options. The food was incredibly delicious, especially the tasty vegan cheese.

i always get the Danielle, with vegan cheese. Now for vegan cheese, this is good vegan cheese. It actually doesn’t taste like feet, it is quite strong but it is good for vegan options! Spags has my heart

I started with a delicious focaccia topped with tomatoes and olives, followed by the pizza Milanese which was made with melted vegan cheese, onions, olives, and peppers. The restaurant was charming and had a lovely atmosphere.

I have been visiting Spags since it opened in the 90’s and it’s a great local place to visit, with food to cater for everyone. There are starters, pasta and pizza to choose from, my favourite being the beetroot ravioli. Updated from previous review on 2022-01-30 Ver carta

I always order the Danial pizza with vegan cheese at this restaurant. The vegan cheese they use is surprisingly good - it doesn't taste off-putting like some vegan cheeses can. It has a strong flavor but is a great option for those following a vegan diet. This place has won my heart.

I have been a loyal customer of Spags since it first opened in the 90s. It is a fantastic restaurant with a diverse menu that caters to all tastes. They offer a variety of appetizers, pasta dishes, and pizzas to choose from. My personal favorite dish is the Beetroot ravioli. I highly recommend giving it a try! We used to frequent this restaurant in the early 2000s when the only vegan options were spaghetti pomodoro, penne all’arrabiatta, or cheese-less pizza. They also had an all-you-can-eat salad bar that I hear is still a hit. Now that they offer vegan cheese, it's worth a return visit. It's a great spot as long as you don't mind climbing a few stairs! One of our regular haunts in the early 2000s when the vegan options were a decent spaghetti pomodoro, penne all’arrabiatta or pizza without cheese. There was also the infamous eat as much as you want salad bar which I understand is still going strong. Now they have vegan cheese there’s scope for returning. A good place if you can make it up the stairs!

Bang in the city centre on the first floor. Really nice atmosphere. The vegan options are clearly marked on the menu and they have have two pizzas and two pasta dishes plus starters. I had the beetroot ravioli with the lentil ragu. It was very tasty and big bowl of comfort food. Service was very quick for the food. Even on a Monday night it was very busy but they do take bookings. Updated from previous review on 2021-08-02

"Started off really well and went over to the counter and ordered a crepe with banana and Nutella and specifically stated no strawberries I also asked for a San Pelegríno still water as this was on the menu also. I was the first person to order and the last to eat in the end. I got brought my water over which was a cheaper brand water that I just paid £2 for what would I have liked to have seen ? We’ll when I asked for san pelligrino still water to be told that they don’t have that in. Finally my crepe comes and I take a bite and realise that it’s got strawberries in all the way through which I’m allergic too. One of my family members takes it back and says that I asked for banana not strawberry there’s a reason why I can’t eat it and didn’t want it on my crepe. Then 5 minutes later another crepe comes out that was my bitten crepe that someone had opened up and picked the strawberries out and put banana in. Disgusting absolutely … not sure if this was a mistake or just being stingy either way it’s not on. It then again gets returned because there is no way I am eating that and it gets explained once again there is a reason I can’t eat strawberries to which then one of the owners comes over to serve the correct crepe and apologise . I really hope a lesson was learnt today because cross contamination is not a joke. Please be careful when eating there. I didn’t get offered a refund but then again they were willing to serve me a bitten crepe again so it didn’t surprise me that much."
