"I celebrated my birthday here on April 8th with a group of 15 people. The staff were incredibly courteous during the booking process and provided outstanding service throughout our visit. Given the large size of our party, I was impressed by the high quality of the food. I absolutely love this hidden gem and will definitely be returning soon. Everyone at the table was thrilled with the meal and felt it was worth every penny."

"I booked a party to celebrate my daughter's baptism at Blacksmith Arms. From the moment I enquired, until we left the pub after the event, all I received was a fantastic five star service! Ian, the pub manager, let me set up the room the night before which ensured everything was how I would like it for the day. Additionally, he catered to all of my needs and requests for food, ensuring there was an excellent spread and variety of food that met the needs of anyone with allergies also. Ian and Chris' idea of a buffet ensures that no guest will go hungry! He truly does put on an excellent buffet. Chris Seale, the chef, is absolutely fabulous. He is so professional and his food is excellent. The guests raved about his chicken bites, wedges and sausage rolls in particular but it was all so lovely. People even wanted to take some of the left over food home for their families it was that good! Chris went above and beyond to help me on the day and the night before when he helped me set up the room. I cannot thank him enough. Simon, who was there on the day, was so friendly, polite and hardworking. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He put myself and all the guests at ease. Agian, thank you Simon. The staff even did a raffle where the money raised went to my daughter. How special and kind that thought was and something I could never forget. Whether you are after a quick drink, some food or an event, I would not hesitate to recommend you use the Blacksmith Arms. A truly five star experience!"

"Really enjoyed our visit here. We were on an organised walk and they catered for 30+ people very well considering the size of the place. I had a chicken curry which was very good washed down with a pint of Brixton Craft Ale. Can highly recommend this pub. Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"We are locals but had not visited this restaurant before as there are three good pubs closer to us. However, this time we decided to stop by as we walked past and were pleasantly surprised to find a table available despite the busy atmosphere. The menu offered a good selection of traditional pub dishes with a few vegan options. We were impressed by the affordable prices and wondered what the quality of the food would be like. The bar was bustling, but we were served quickly by the friendly and efficient Anne. The variety of beers was great and Anne poured a perfect pint. Our meals were delicious and well worth the price. I tried to pay for another pint with my card, but the minimum spend was £5.00, which was not a problem as my pint of Moretti only cost £4.30 – much cheaper than at my local pubs. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely return. The atmosphere near the lively bar was enjoyable, but there are quieter tables in the main dining area and a peaceful conservatory as well. Although I was disappointed that the mixed grill had sold out, I was pleased with my tasty chicken curry and Roses soup. The beer was excellent quality."

"My partner and I stayed for two nights in the hotel. We found the room a little dated and very warm as it faced south, however it was nice and clean. The bed we had was two singles pushed together which we didn’t find ideal and would have preferred a normal king size, particularly as the head boards were also separated by about a foot so snuggling up together sitting having a cuppa in the morning was uncomfortable. The breakfast was lovely and all the hotel staff were very nice. We ate dinner on one of the nights which was very good but was rather expensive with a bottle of very average wine costing £41. We were not keen on the a la carte menu so the chef let us have choices from the bar menu. Afterwards we sat in the lounge area which was very cosy and we were well looked after. The grounds of the hotel were really pretty and we had a picnic on our first night which was very romantic. I would be concerned about visiting in the summer as there was no air conditioning in the room we stayed in."
