"A huge thank you to Sander and Corine who made us feel sooooo welcome on our visit to this totally unique hidden gem.Who on earth would have thought you would find such a place in the depths of the French countryside? Sander had a vision, and he followed through with it, to build his own restaurant (yes with his own hands) and to serve good honest food to his customers who he treats like long lost friends and family.Together with his wonderful wife Corine, who attends to your every need, they have created a bar/restaurant/cafe/lounge/terrace/home that is loved by locals (80% of their customers)! and tourists alike.Sander and Corine love having families in for dinner and treat the kids with amazing affection and make sure they are just as well catered to as the adults. The food here is a mix of salads, burgers, paninis, fish, duck confit, fries etc etc and is all cooked by Sander himself.This is the perfect place for a lovely relaxing welcoming drink, snack or meal after visiting the nearby towns and viewing tower of Moncalou just next door.Merci Beaucoup Sander et Corine and all the very best for the future!"

Came here on a recommendation from our neighbours and had a great meal, wonderful setting overlooking the winery's. The tower across the road is a great place to walk up and look over the valley.

Tucked away in a rural idyll this little restaurant is one of the most fun places I've eaten. We happened to choose an evening when there was live music, how lucky for us. The singer was superb, the food was plentiful, the service friendly

Our first visit to the restaurant having walked to Moncalou several times before. We had a splendid lunch. The Floriment Salad is to be recommended - my husband says it is the best salad lunch he has had in France! As we return to the U.K this week we will be unable to visit again- until 2017!

Very nice location overlooking the Woods, you can also visit for free the look out. The restaurant is a mix of lounge bar and brasserie, they serve very nice cocktails, have a Dutch Hapas menu with typical Dutch snacks, and a good restaurant for burgers and salades. Recommand cocktails and salade Florimont

We had our last meal of our fortnight's holiday and what a place. The surroundings are amazing, the atmosphere is really good and the hosts are really fun. We were there on rib night and they were the best ribs we have ever had - really special. We went with our two children and they loved it as well. Would also the recommend the starter platter - a perfect starter to share. Thoroughly recommended

I had been meaning to visit this place for a while and eventually got time. A group of us went on a Friday Night for the BBQ Ribs, it was just so funky, we loved the atmosphere and greeting as soon as we arrived, it made us feel like we were on our holidays, just superb. Sander, Corine and their staff were so fantastic, with their warm and friendly reception of us all and the food was fantastic. This really is a hidden gem. We enjoyed cocktails and some tapas to start off our evening and I just can't wait to go again.

Stopped here for a drink and snacks after walking to the viewpoint, fully intending to have a beer or two and some nibbles, which were swiftly delivered along with drinks. Introduced to the crazy Dutch owners (Sanders and Corine)by my sister, who made us very welcome. We sat on the terrace overlooking the tower but there is also one looking over the forest, both very comfortable and quiet.So several beers later and a superb Cote du Boeuf plus a excellent burger devoured by our teenage son, we walked back to the village in the dark.Great food, great hosts, impressed!

It was not the first time and it will not be the last, that we were guests in this restaurant. We like the informal ambiance and conviviality of the place, with a superb view on the vineyards, its terrace and the comfortable loungechairs. You easily want to stay there for hours, for an aperitif and a good meal. Yes indeed: the food. we tried most of it: the snacks, the pizza's, the fish and meat dishes, the salads, - it is all of a good quality and taste. And the hamburgers. A huge thank you to Sander and Corine for an amazing night!We were lucky enough to reserve a table at the sell out 'Guy Fawkes' celebration evening at this great place.Make sure you check out their FB page to catch any events that they are running. "We had been told that we could expect something out of the ordinary. If we wanted loads of chips, large portions and a hearty country menu then it would not be for us. We arrived to a cheerful welcome, really cold beer and a local aperitif. A choice of three starters, three main course and three desserts – sometimes, we were told, there might be less choice. Tomato confit for my wife. I had the cured salmon. Both visually beautiful, both immaculately prepared with subtle, clean flavours. Then lamb cutlets on a bed of potato fingers plus myrtle berries, peas and BBQ’d maize and a red and yellow sweet pepper. The fingers were thin layers of potato that had been gently pressed in a terrine then smoked! I had the cod plus a mixture of peas and beans plus very young asparagus on a bed of avocado puree. The cod (as was everything) was cooked to perfection. Both dishes were beautifully presented. For desert I had strawberries, many were wild, with a home prepared strawberry sorbet that had an intense clean flavour. My wife had the chocolat gateau that looked dry but tasted moist (gluten free), served with wild cherries plus home prepared cherry sorbet. So good. All this served on the terrace which has lovely views over the valley. Totally tranquillity and amazing food. Such perfection would normally cost an arm and a leg but no, only €12.50 each. The chef and his partner previously trained and worked at the Ritz. It shows as this food is rarely found outside of very up market restaurants. They are very young and, of course, at their age cannot be expected live and work in the middle of nowhere for ever. Their aim is to serve refined, beautifully prepared and presented food. They succeed. If you want the experience of the year at a price that will never be bettered then you had better eat here before they move on to greater things. Totally exceptional and the best food I have eaten for a very, very long time."
