Laing's Coffee Shop

I wrote a negative review some time ago but since then we have visited twice. What a complete change. The staff were lovely on both occasions and the food/drink was too. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a great time at this restaurant. There were 7 of us and we all had a good experience. I would suggest trying the fish finger sandwich. The service was excellent. It was quite busy, so I would recommend making a reservation.

Went for coffee and cakes. Toasted tea cake was burnt. Strawberry tart very disappointing. The cream was off. Took the strawberry tart back but they still charged us!! We visit 2-3 times a week so will be a long time until we return. Ver carta

Visited this morning with my daughter, she had full English, I had American pancakes. Absolutely perfect, service was good and quick , and a nice buzz in the restaurant, food was tasty and hot . My daughter is going to visit again with her elderly friend for coffee as the traybakes looked amazing at the counter

Today was incredibly chaotic at the restaurant. We had to wait 40 minutes for our food and it was total madness. The staff was short-handed and the restaurant was full, yet they continued to seat more people even though they couldn't handle the ones already there. We highly recommend looking elsewhere for a less chaotic dining experience.

Great restaurant/cafe just off the motorway but no traffic noise. We stopped for a light lunch and despite being very busy were given a table. Coffee was excellent. The menu is extensive including Sunday roast which looked plentiful and fresh. Big plus is that it is dog friendly and our pooch slept under the table. Staff were friendly if a bit rushed. Decor was barn like, clean and tidy. Def will make a return visit with a bigger family group. Ver carta

Went for a late lunch as i know it can be busy. Plenty of available tables and order taken quickly. Food arrived soon after ordering which was good however it took the waitress over 30 mins to remove our used plates and only did so when I caught her attention. Ordered coffee and cake but again it took almost 30 mins to make 2 lattes and plate 2 slices of cake despite there only being a few people dining. Waitresses were slow and too busy talking to each other to take any notice of their customers, very disappointed, won’t be rushing back. Food was only average to be honest but quite pricey for what it was

I have been here many times and generally enjoyed every aspect of the visits. However, recently, the service has been gradually getting worse. On our recent visit we booked for 12.30 and arrived on time and were shown to our table. 56 minutes later the meals arrived! At no time in those minutes did any member of staff come to tell us there was a delay. When the meals eventually did arrive, there was only one word from the waitress. Enjoy . The location is good as is the food, but it seems that the emphasis is on making more money by cramming in more customers rather than showing respect to them. The attitude of the owners/managers needs to change. The service can only be described as appalli...

We arrived early in the morning at around 9:30 on a cold, wet, and miserable day. We had been to this restaurant before. When we entered, the place was empty except for two other people. We were greeted with a "Good Morning, can I help you?" and requested a table for two. When asked if we had made a reservation, we replied that we had not. We had noticed on our previous visit that it gets quite busy later in the morning and at lunchtime. We found it amusing that the manager, who we believed was speaking to us in a loud and condescending manner, was not very welcoming. Despite this, the staff were polite and helpful.
