"this restaurant offers an atmosphere, service and excellent cuisine to a good value for money. There were two fixed-priced menus that locally supply as much as possible. one cost less than the other, but both were ambitious and well designed. The night my sister and I had dinner, we tried a selection of the two menus. The mouthing was tiny muscles in a broth. My entrance was a silky and tasty artichoke terrine. my dorado net was cooked to perfection and served with fennel and mushrooms. the selection of local cheeses was generous and delicious. my sister had shrimp in parmesan with spring vegetables, lamb with spring vegetables, all delicious. its dessert was a rhubarb raspberry pie with a red pepper strawberry sorbet! our server explained the menu in English and was attentive. I recommend the restaurant to any person in the sarlat area or in the cahors area."

the fixed price menu offered good choices and worth it. I was there with friends and they were all happy with the fish supply. The inside is beautifully done.

small but beautiful place and delicious creative dishes. I got the smoked trout, then the beautiful ted vivan. The service was diligent. hot dishes. Try the red lamartine castle out. good price good quality.

a particularly refined fixed price menu. two of my dinner companions took the fish and praised them. I got the mussels and they were delicious. indoor dining rooms are chic with illuminated walls and warm wood finishes.

beautiful location on the square near the cathedral, good service, pleasant but without particularity. glass wine at 4.70 € is much too expensive for a not too generous glass. cahor is a well-known wine region, they should have something more reasonable on the menu. Ver carta

I had a fixed-priced lunch menu that was really different. Meat was cooked to perfection. I never had cooked meat as soft as it melted almost in the mouth combined with just the good type of flavors in the juice that suited my palate. dessert also imaginatively different. good wine choice and the wine of the house is very good. the atmosphere of this high-end style restaurant is friendly and not noisy; Careful and very helpful service. good value for money given the creative style of served food and excellent quality.

the restaurant we planned to visit was closed, so it was our next choice! short menu but you know everything is beautiful and fresh, lots of elements for each dish marrying wonderfully. a lot of vegetables with the main dish (at least 6 varieties !) - hourra !! I'm always surprised French markets full of seasonal products but we don't find them with dinner at the restaurant! perfect service, good mouth lover, good choice of local and other wines. All in all, a good dinner. I found a very good value for money at 28 €, a 3-course menu.

had spent our Saturday morning strolling into the vast market of the square. I chose the march after seeing a lot of good reviews and I have to say that I was not disappointed. the restaurant is located on the other side of the square and we sat outside shortly after noon. we opted for the menu at 21 € with just an entry and a dish. I had the terrine to start and the fish dishes, the two incredible dishes, especially the fish that had a nice flavor. Overall, a good culinary experience and a good value for money, I thought I would recommend it without hesitation and I will return to it for sure. Ver carta

this restaurant was recommended by friends who discovered it hidden behind the square next to the old market covered on a busy market day. They said it was great. We were 7 trying it for lunch during a visit and found it also excellent. the staff was very convenient because each of us had different tastes. He even prepared a delicious vegetarian meal without chichi. the atmosphere inside was quiet and quiet, a good backdrop against the outside noise. my only reproach would be the long seats in the main room - from a design point of view, pretty, but terribly uncomfortable to sit for a long quiet lunch.

I've been in front of this restaurant for a few years and I don't really know why. For me, I've always suffered from having perhaps too greedy before I started to visit him.... great I mean a huge mistake on my part. You see, I've now found his unique selling argument for me. It's food is different. Let me explain. I just got a main dish that breaks all my rules. I'm not a fan of fruit in a hot dish. I know, a character defect really. I also have a strange aversion for random pasta appearing out of the appropriate context. So, when calf on a bed of macaroni in the grapefruit comes in front of me, it should make my spicy senses pick. Anyway, it works. all the elements are connected. The flavo...

"we went to the barn by accepting that the owner was a "personage", but we expected to get good quality food. What shock we got. food could be very nicely described as a basic home kitchen and the owner seemed much more concerned about his performance of "look at me" than providing any type of service to his customers. When we went into the restaurant and asked for a table for two, we were told loudly and with the arms renounced, sit there. not "how would you like to sit here" or "would this table go well?" "Sit here" and he walks away. no menu provided - there is no menu, just a table at the bottom of the stairs leading to the restaurant. two choices for entry and two for main dish. no attempt to specify desert options. After 10 minutes, the owner came to the table to take our order. Even if he recognized that we were speaking a little French, he did not try to explain the dishes, nor even to speak slowly. the best we can get was "cannard or ham, and "boeff or cannard" for main dishes. we selected the duck for the entrance and some time later, the owner planted two plates of melon and ham on the table and went away without saying a word. It was actually correct, but it's a hard dish to be mistaken. later came the main dish - well, a boiled beef dish in a gray sauce and a rice dish too cooked. Not a vegetable or a salad to see. Once again dived without a word. Apparently, we were supposed to share the smaller portions. the dish had the taste of what it was - boiled meat with a little flour to make the sauce. Then came the cheese tray - no description, just serve, then it was taken away. desert saw a woman from the kitchen pull out a dishes tray to choose. Paying the bill meant to be held at the counter while the owner ended up putting the glasses in a dishwasher. without washing or drying hands, took the credit card and treated it without ever saying what the total amount was. I had to read the print to see. It was 55 euros for two dishes at 15 euros and a bottle of white wine. We enjoyed many great lunches and dinners during our week in cahors. with this notable exception, the food was very good to excellent and the service uniformly high. The barn is a shame for the region. Why would someone return to this place is a mystery - we will certainly not."
