L'Epicea - Carta

I eat at L'Epicea several times a month through the winter, the food and the staff are excellent, I would definitely recommend this lovely mountain restaurant!

Agree with all saying this is the best on the mountain. Not cheap but nothing is when skiing. Food is really a cut above the rest. Suzy's chilli is a highlight as is the brownie. Frites are as good as anywhere in France.

The nachos with chilli are great to share. I’m not sure I could ski again for a couple of hours after any of the main meals (though they looked excellent . The...worst part of the restaurant is that it is accessed by a very flat green run which over several trips over 2 weeks this year and last I’ve never managed without having to pole along the last stretch!

We found this restaurant on day 3 of our ski trip and what a lucky find it was! We went back everyday for our lunch. Great food and great prices! None of your €15 burger deals, proper, freshly prepared delicious meals. The staff were very...friendly and helpful, even giving us a round of shots when we said it was our last day. It does get very busy, so I’d recommend reserving a table, or just sit outside with a beer until a table becomes available. It will definitely be our slopes lunch retreat on our next visit!! Perfectly located close to the lifts in Flaine. This restaurant is ideal for walkers and skiers to meet up and enjoy lunch together. It would take only five minutes to walk from the centre of Flaine. **** good food, a lovely roaring fire, great service, ideal for people with children. Lots of tasty meals, we had typical mountain fare, pizzas, chips, and their daily special is always delicious, and ever changing!We did have a bottle of wine that was quite old, a white, which was pretty ropey, that was a bit of a shame. We tried another sort and it was better.Would most definitely return.

During our week skiing my wife and i had lunch here twice, the food is very good, the caesar salad and nachos particularly. The portions are quite large but make sure you leave space for suzy's Brownie with ice cream and chocolate sauce, it is superb. The Brownie is huge and easily enough for 2 to share as we did. The serving staff are all friendly and efficient, even when it was packed outside on a blue sky day with people waiting for tables. They sell their own design t shirts and hoodies, which are quite funky. I've been skiing in the Grand Massif for several years and L'Epicea is my favourite place to eat. The food is good alpine stuff, with some great, less traditional options like Thai chicken curry and chilli. Suzy's brownie is excellent. L'Epicea has an open but intimate indoor section (great when it's snowing) and a big terrace outside which is fantastic in the sunlight. L'Epicea's greatest strength is its staff - they're genuinely invested in ensuring that their guests have a great experience. They're a great team who blend speed and efficiency (food often arrives within 5-10 minutes of ordering) with amazing friendliness - greeting guests with great warmth, taking pains to ensure all diners...
