We had no reservations anywhere the one night that we were in Paris, and foolishly tried to get in to L'Avant Comptoir, obviously with no luck.

Absolutely amazing! Great service wonderful food . We ate at a Michelin starred restaurant down the street and this was just as good if not better.

Perfectly prepared food in just the right portion—fish, boeuf and lovely first courses. Delicious champagne and wine by the glass. Wish we had time to go again. Ver carta

recommended by a family member we arrived without reservation. excellent reception smiling in this small room. on the menu beef cheeks and small potatoes and blettes-a feast- and baba dessert with rum and vanilla cream. all for a reasonable price. an address to be retained in a quiet little street.

Easily our best meal in Paris. The owner/host could not have been lovelier. The chef beautifully executed the menu that the owner created herself. The adults in our party savored every bite of every beautifully presented dish, and our picky children even raved about everything they tried. Not a drop of food left on any plate during any course...still dreaming about this meal! A hidden gem that's well worth a visit. Ver carta

L'Epigramme is a small restaurant tucked away down a side street but well worth the visit. Our family chose the very reasonably priced 3 course service. All the dishes were immaculately plated and tasted as good as they looked. Highlights were escargots in a garlic foam, a deconstructed mackerel bruschetta, sea bream with seafood accompaniment, beef and lamb cooked to perfection, and a roasted peach dessert. Service was very friendly and attentive. A modest wine list but we found an excellent white Bordeaux. Highly recommended.

I've written an earlier review, but had to come back with an update. We first stumbled upon this hidden gem five years ago and were immediately charmed by 'Papa' and the rest of the family as they welcomed us to their restaurant. Papa has since retired and the restaurant is under new management. They have updated the space, making it lighter and sharper. We noticed the changes immediately, but decided to stick it out. The service was incredibly slow - even by European standards - for a ten table restaurant. When my escargot appetizer arrived they were cooked into little hard charcoal-like rocks. It was rectified in under ten minutes (interesting, since it took them close to 40 the first time...

The last time we visited this restaurant 3 years ago my husband proposed to me so you can imagine how special it is for us. We'd read poor recent reviews saying the restaurant had changed hands but were determined to see for ourselves. So we turned up at 8 pm on a Friday night for our reservation. The place was empty. We were worried but thought we had to see what the food was like so in we went. The lights were on bright and music was coming from the kitchen. The restaurant itself is pretty so all that is needed are a few candles, low lights and some nice background music plus open the door to make people want to come inside.
